As a Blues fan, I would be thrilled if the Avs overreacted to this year and did something to detonate their core. They won't, because they seem to be one of the best run organizations in the league right now, and are on the short list of teams best setup for success over the next 3-5 years. They could probably use some tweaks - and admittedly finding those final pieces to put a team over the top can be difficult - but that's probably about it.

There's nothing wrong with Colorado.

30 teams don't win the Cup and sometimes the other guys just had a better series.

Yeah. I don't get this idea that any team that loses automatically needs to be changed or 'fixed'. You can have the best team and still lose any given series. It's just that the best team is more likely to go all the way over time.

It takes teams forever to get in the "zone" and be true contenders. The Avalanche are. They have years more to go on that window. Stay the course. Get your at-bats. Don't rock the boat when you're this close.

Sakic is clearly not a guy to make any rash moves, if anything, sometimes we wish he was bolder and more aggressive with his moves. If for example he got Hall instead of letting him go to Boston, you never know, perhaps Hall would score one or 2 goals, which would turn those tight losing games into winning games. But what happened, happened, hopefully we will have our chance again for at least next 5 years.
