True. I'd jump on Timashov.
Timashov is just a warm body and prevents us from calling anyone up from Laval with guys like Kovalchuk and Thompson likely needing to be replaced in the NHL. If he does well then great, if not, who cares.

If we do pick up Timashov and deiced to send him down later in the season would he need to clear waivers?

We got a spot now that Kovalchuk was trade and we are looking to add Russian for Romanov arrival... He could be a surprise next year, won’t ruin the tank this year and we get a Russian player that even played in the Q so pretty well acclimate to NA. There zero risk is contract is up so you could also just let him walk.

I wonder if they place a claim on him we are - kovi and thomson now and we should keep the young kids in Laval

He's actually Swedish, born in Ukraine moved as a kid to Sweden and took part in the 2016 Junior WC for Sweden.
