Never thought we'd sign Sokolov before Timmy.
What do you folks think the odds are that he plays in Germany for the whole season?
I'm not surprised. One player is injured and under contract overseas, the other is training in Canada and doesn't have an existing pro contract. It's not as if there's more desire to sign Sokolov.
I think the chances are low, but it's possible. He's stated numerous times that he wants to be in Ottawa, and the Sens have been clear that they believe that he can play in the NHL right away. It would be unusual for Mannheim to hold him hostage when his desire is to be in Ottawa.
