I thought it would be nice if we could have a thread with various obscure NHL records.
Feel free to contribute with your own lists.
I'll start with top 10 lists, but I will eventually add top 5 and top 3 lists as well.

Of course, if there are any errors, let me know, and I'll fix it.

All records are for the regular season only.

That Guy Charron 734 games without a playoff appearance one is crazy!! Especially in that era, it can't have been easy to do. His career was a perfect-storm of team ineptitude or near-misses. Not surprisingly, he's a career -208.

Most consecutive playoff wins

92 hawks
92 penguins
93 canadiens

The Hawks set the record against Edmonton in the Campbell finals then Pittsburgh tied the record by sweeping the Hawks in the finals

Edit to add the recordis for one season and is 11 games

I think that when Cunneyworth returned to Buffalo he set a record for longest period of time between two goals for the same club.

Great, I love that, because it's an obscure record. I remember Cunneyworth having the record.
According to my files, he's not the record holder anymore though.

Neat thread idea. Some things that caught my eye:

-Paul Coffey on the Gordie Howe hat trick list with 9 of them. Coffey either fought a lot more often than I suspected or had a remarkable penchant for scoring almost every time he did.

-Jack Darragh and Didier Pitre each with a sub-2:00 hat trick in the same game.

-No Dave Schultz on the fighting majors list. I was surprised to see the record was set as recently as 20 years ago, and that there is an entry from this decade.

At 23.66%, Craig Simpson has the highest career shooting percentage in league history

Charlie Simmer, Paul MacLean and Mike Bossy round out the top 4 and are the only others above 20%

Thanks for your feedback. No you are correct. He had 13. I had him with a GHH in a game against Detroit on November 2, 1985. But I double checked the game, and instead of 2+1 and a fight against Kocur, he only had 2+0. I have corrected the list above.

Point Share Leaders.
Not surprisingly, Wayne Gretzky has 251.01 leading everyone else by 9 point shares.
He also leads offensive points shares at 223.86... 27 ops ahead of the next guy
Ray Bourque has 118.94, aabout 3 and a half better than the next guy
Roberto Luongo is about a point share ahead of Martin Brodeur in Goalie Point Shares. 207.79.

Wow, somebody needs to compare Krutov's first 10 games! He beat Makarov in donuts consumed, anyway...

(*Typo above on 'oldest player to reach the 20-goal plateau', as it shows G.Howe playing for Washington.)

There are a couple of negative records for the early 60s Rangers. A truly horrid squad. Just look at Gump Worsley and most shots faced, most games with over 50 saves.

Perrault was a monster on the dot.

How is it possible that Barry Beck has two spots on the "Longest point scoring streak by a rookie defenseman" list?

Neat thread idea. Some things that caught my eye:

-Paul Coffey on the Gordie Howe hat trick list with 9 of them. Coffey either fought a lot more often than I suspected or had a remarkable penchant for scoring almost every time he did.

-Jack Darragh and Didier Pitre each with a sub-2:00 hat trick in the same game.

-No Dave Schultz on the fighting majors list. I was surprised to see the record was set as recently as 20 years ago, and that there is an entry from this decade.
Surprised me too a bit, but then again, fights started for little reason more often, the clutching and grabbing was at a highpoint so that has to frustrate some people, and players were drafted for size, which shows a mindset, namely that you can bulldoze your way to a victory.

jagr holds league record for scoring or assisting on 15 straight goals over a 7 game stretch. (took me a long time to find that on the www, actually)
back in january, toews did the same....scoring or assisting on 6 (i believe) straight goals.
i've searched high and low to see what the blackhawk's record was for such a feat. think you could help?
btw...this thread is a lot more interesting than i thought it would be when i first opened it. thnx for your hard work.

Safe to assume Mellanby would be the oldest player to record his 1st 4 Goal game as well.

Wonder if he is also the oldest player to score 4 Power Play Goals in a game?

Holy, that's a good one! Almost 24 years between NHL hat-tricks for Jagr.... that's completely ridiculous.

Daneyko scored a playoff goal during his regular season goalless streak in the 1999-2000 SCF against Ed Belfour, who was zonked out on cold medicine.
