The Thrashers have been losing money at an alarming rate and now sit at the bottom of the very competitive eastern conference. In an attempt to stop the bleeding GM Ryan Archer has made several moves and opened up talks with several GM's in order to make more moves. As of late the Thrashers waived goaltender Jose Theodore. The Thrashers were sad to have to make this move as they were banking on him having a come back year and possibly becoming the starter goaltender for next year. However his contract was just too much to handle so he became the first casualty in the Thrashers attempt to clean up.

Just recently in a press release to the Atlanta Sun, the Thrashers announced that they had parted ways with soon to be free agent Arron Asham. The deal helps shed more salary under the cap and also adds some cash to the bank. Right Wing Nathan Perrott, CBJ 6th 2007 and $250K were sent to the Thrashers in exchange for Asham's services. Ashams intensity and tenacity should help Columbus' depth.

The Thrashers still have to relieve themselves of some more salary and talks with other GM's involved the Thrashers 3 top scorers. Jason Allison, Eric Lindros and Petr Sykora, all of which are on the block. Please foward any offers to [email protected].
