OK. I'll bite, it is interesting to glance at, I wonder what the criteria was?

Probaly give more of a nod to Craig Leopold, Alexander Ovechkin, Reebok CEO Paul Fireman, and unwillingly, Kings Prez Tim Lieweke.

I dont understand this list. Steve Moore has power and influence? I think he has none of either. Pat Quinn and Bob McKenzie so low? What is their basis of power and influence?

I would like to know how Eklund did not make that list? I mean the guy has his finger on the pulse of the entire league. He has more knowledge in his little finger than most of the others on the list have in their entire body.;) :biglaugh:

A lot of these folks you don't know are lawyers who helped either the owners or the PA hammer out the details of the CBA, supposedly.

Player Agents?

Why is Don Meehan so much higher on the list than the other player agents?
Also who do the player agents influence with their power?
Agent means they represent players so would not the players represented be the ones with the power?
I'm fairly naive and searching for edification. :allears:

Meehan is probably the most powerful agent in the NHL.His client list makes up 1/7 of the NHL-more than 100 NHL players. His company is Newport Sports.Pat Morris is also part of Newport Sports Management.Newport Sports Management is a Ted Saskin backer

huh? lol

Many kids are introduced to NHL by the video games and the NHL considers Schappert a key figure in promoting their game.EA NHL2006 was released at the same time X-BOX 360 went on the market

Crosby has more power and influence on hockey than Lemieux? That's news to me.
Crosby is on the list as the most influential player in the game.He draws the largest viewing audience, has the most hits on the internet, sells the most merchandise. Shanahan is on the list for the weight he carries in the union. Lemieux, you would think should be ahead of Shanahan and maybe others but in some ways his influence is somewhat comprimised with the players because he is an owner and also comprimised with the owners because he is also a player.
