I agree for defence, wingers and goalies but franchise Centers in their prime rarely ever make it to free agency, we’ve done a good job developing wingers and having a 1-2 punch of Matthews and Tavares would be unreal.

Trust me I agree but Center is the one area we don’t have great organizational depth.

Last 2 years we wasted picks to address our 4th line. Let’s say we don’t sign Tavares and nylander is moved to Center. Personally I would be more comfortable having joe Thornton on the 4th line over our internal options. Maybe do a 50/30 game split between Thornton and a Marlie.
