3. Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets: The Jets-Bolts showdown in the 2019 Stanley Cup final is gonna be something to see.

(...)

10. Frederik Andersen, Toronto Maple Leafs: A little streaky and prone to giving up a soft goal now and again, but he’s established himself as a bona fide No. 1 on a true-blue contender.

(...)

13. John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks: He sits third among NHL goalies in save percentage (.925) since taking over as the Ducks’ full-time starter a couple years ago.

Not really a "great" debate with arguments like that.

EDIT: To be fair, these are just random examples, could cite most of the guys between 3 and 13 to make the point.

Lol Carey price has one bad year and he’s worse then rantaa, Andersen etc... he’s still a top 3 goalie in the nhl
Price's career stats are very similar to Andersen's and he was just heavily outperformed by him last year. He should be behind him. Price is certainly not a top 3 goalie after a season like that. He has to earn it again

Just looking at the list I can see any of the top 25 having a year that "carries" their team to overachieve in the regular season. ITs like running back in the NFL. The elites aren't that much ahead of the middle and the lower end of the middle can get the job done.

Probably some combo of the Ducks getting stomped in the playoffs and a lot of hockey writers not knowing or caring about analytics or heat maps for shots.

Too low in Vezina voting and too low in a lot of these offseason rankings.
He should be right around where Vasil/Helle are give or take depending on what you value in your voting. I mean they coulda just used the vezina voting and threw him in that 5-8 range
I think it has to do with him playing in Anaheim tbh.
Getzlaf not in the top 50 player list, 19th on the centers list
Lindholm not in the top 20 dmen list
Gibson 13th in goalie list.

I like a lot of the rankings here. Except,

Gibson is criminally underrated and I really have no idea why.

Yeah Gibson should be much higher. Why do people generally have him in a lower tier than Vasilevskiy? I'd take Gibson over Vasilevskiy. He has better raw sv% and once you incorporate the shot difficulty, the gap gets even bigger.

21. Brian Elliott, Philadelphia Flyers.

22. Jacob Markstrom, Vancouver Canucks

23. Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks

24. Cory Schneider, New Jersey Devils

25. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers

Absurd order. Schneider's been awful for two years straight, Lundqvist's been average. Who else in their right mind would rank Markstrom, and even worse Elliott, above Crawford? I know he missed a lot of games last year, but he was excellent up to that point.

Ignoring contracts, I’m fairly confident that if you gave every GM the opportunity to pick any goalie for their team next season, Price’s name would come up for most of them.
