It's clear that, although the team gets great possession, they don't get enough high quality chances in their current mix. They need to REALLY juggle things up, and I mean top to bottom!

My suggestion... (with Coyle out of the lineup still)

    Parise - Granlund - Nino
    Cooke - Koivu - Pominville
    Fontaine - Brodziak - Mitchell
    Veilleux - Konopka - Heatley

    PP#1

    Parise - Granlund - Pominville
    Spurgeon - Brodin

    PP#2

    Heatley - Koivu - Nino
    Dumba - Suter

Here's what I kind of want to see once Coyle comes back:

    Parise - Groombled - Pominville
    Nino - Coyle - Zucker
    Cooke - Koivu - Mitchell
    Veilleux - Brodziak - Fontaine

Parise - Granlund - Zucker (Kid can snipe, give him the right players)
    Nino - Koivu - Coyle
    Cooke - Brodziak - Heatley
    Rupp - Mitchell - Fontaine

As stated in other thread by me: Until Coyle is back

    Parise-Granlund-Pominville
    Heatley-Koivu-Nino
    Cooke-Brodz-Haula
    Fontaine-Konopka-Mitchell

When Coyle is back and Zucker get his game together (hopefully)
    Parise-Coyle-Granlund
    Zucker-Koivu-Pominville
    Nino-Brodziak-Cooke
    Fontaine-Konopka-Mitchell
    Heatley to press box

Sorry, Granlund needs to stay at center! He's playing GREAT there and IMO is this team's best center already.

We'll see what Coyle has to say about that when he gets back. ;)

I've got zero issue with Coyle on the wing. Liked him there last year with Parise anyway.

I'd put him back on the wing where he can do the most damage along the boards, then crashing the net catching passes from Granlund!

IF I kept Coyle at center though I'd go with something like this...

    Parise - Granlund - Nino
    Cooke - Coyle - Pominville
    Fontaine - Koivu - Heatley
    Veilleux - Brodziak - Mitchell

Coyle and Granlund both need to stay at center. That's why I say knock the captain off his damned pedestal and bust him down to third line. Have him center Cooke and Mitchell. i think that would be a GREAT line and a lot of fun to watch.

swap Konopka for Dowell and we have a winner.

Koivu probably has the best chance out of anybody to get Heater going again.

When Coyle gets back through Heater to the dogs. When Zucker gets his **** together swap him and Haula. Make that line a threat.

Since were throwing everything at the wall here, let's throw in the hypothetical desperation trade for Vanek. If that happens, and we get Coyle back:

    Parise - Granderward - Vanek
    Nino - Coyle - Pominville
    Cooke - Koivu - Mitchell
    Veilleux - Brodziak - Fontaine

Too bad Yeo will never get the nerve to knock Koivu off that top line.

And who did we move to get Vanek? ;)

  14. How about taking Parise off the top line. Second in the NHL in shots, but just four goals, and a less than 8% shooting. That's horrible, no matter how some may want to overlook it. I bet Mikko, Pommer and Niño are mad because they pass him the puck and he can't bury it!

Thats part of the reason I think it would never ever happen. It's just wishful thinking on my part.

I don't think he has as fragile an ego as Yeo thinks he may have. Koivu wears the C for a reason. He started his career there, he'd handle it just fine.

I think Koivu could handle it. It's Yeo who I don't think could accept it.

4 goals in 9 games is on pace for ~36 goals and his shooting percentage is 8%...

obviously a few assists and close to ppg would be much better but that requires Pommer and Koivu to actually put the puck in the back of the net on a consistent basis.

i said that incorrectly i meant to say would he pout for being moved to 3rd line

That would require Parise to actually create something. Outside of Koivu and Suter bouncing a couple of goals off of him, he really hasnt done much but hustle and take bad shots.

You said it just fine, he would NOT pout if he was moved to the 3rd line. He's got too good of a head on his shoulders. Obviously you don't respect the Captain's attitude towards the game.

  24. Parise can't create, he's just a banger, who needs others to do all the work so e can try to stuff it in to the goal again, and again, and again...who gives a crap about the hustle if there are no tangible results.
