As stated by a previous post, the article makes sense until the part about Mrazek. It would seem this Wolak clearly overlooked that Mrazek already has a now team-UNfriendly contract and it will require an unfriendly qualifying offer to keep his as an RFA.

The only way Mrazek signs any sort of "team friendly" deal for next season is if he's dealt to another team willing to give him a shot at a #1 role, or he hits the UFA market and doesn't get any better offers.

Actually it stopped making sense at Mike Green being traded to Edmonton for their 1st round pic.

They need to add more depth, though. Otherwise they have a good set up for success as demonstrated from last year. Hearing that, Edmonton? Take Nyquist, Mrazek and Green and give us all your picks kthx.

Tough to see them as sellers, because they have Zero rental contracts on their books. Always hard to find takers for multi-year deals they mostly have.

Edmonton should buy, but take only reasonable contracts which have years left and players on their prime.

Like package both Tatar and Nyquist there to give huge offensive depth for the team.

After that, sell Green to Los Angeles.

Edmonton should have been buying at the last TDL and this summer. They should have been all over getting Flip from Tampa and Green from us, especially when they knew Sekera was going to miss so much time. Instead, it seems they way under-appreciated what Sekera meant to their blueline and dealt Eberle off to roll the dice on Strome.

You mention Tatar and Nyquist but I think the guys who could fit them best are Gator and Helm. Not too old, the sort of solid mid6 forward they are wholly incapable of drafting themselves, and locked into contracts they can probably handle rather than wading into free agency. If not that, wade into free agency a bit and see if an older guy or two wouldn't sign on for some reasonable cap hits if given a little bit of term.

Helm could definitely help, as their big problem seems to be, outside McDavid, they are a slower team. Got a question Chiarelli not knowing that you need speed at the moment to be good. I mean Florida was skating circles around us the other night, becuase they are a fast team. Don't want it, but if I was them, I try and get AA, has his speed would give them two extremely fast players who can handle the puck at fast pace. Instead they go after slow slugs like Lucic, like it was 2011 or something.

Wouldn't mind those kind of deals at all...
