Exactly. Zero logic in playing backups if you gave a chance to improve your seeding. There will be at least 3 days off before the playoffs start. A Stanley cup winning goaltender will probably end up playing for 2 months straight.

"Go time" was weeks ago. In the long run this last game is completely meaningless. The desire the avoid the best team in the league so that someone else can beat them for you is akin to the constant whining by Canada for Toronto continually facing "The second best team in the East" every postseason.

Frankly, I think the players are looking forward to whoever they face as am I.
