People complain about their depth all the time and fans/media talk about how hard it is to acquire high end forwards.

Vegas has gone out and added 3 players who coincidently happen to be their 3 best forwards since July.

Props to GMGM.

Pacioretty - Stastny - Stone are absolutely fantastic to watch in all three zones.

Stone was a huge acquisition. He’s their best player now.

Stone is a Game changer. He’s an awesome 2way player who is effective in all 3 zones. His style is built for playoff Hockey.

They are probably going to add Erik Karlsson in the offseason also..

Going to be a good team for a long time.

Not many teams have the kind of assets (draft picks and prospects) that Vegas has. I mean, they can even afford to overpay like they did in the Pacioretty deal, give a lot of prospect depth, and still keep a very deep prospect pool.

The NHL wanted them competitive from year 1 and they made the expansion draft rules in consequence. That doesn't make GMGM a genius though.

Lol at people still acting like the expansion draft was rigged for them. Deryk Engelland and Brayden McNabb are still in this team's top 4 and absolutely nobody predicted that William Karlsson, Erik Haula, and Cody Eakin were enough at center to take a team to the final. Sometimes thing just happened, and we shouldn't have expected Karlsson to be this good, nor should we have just expected Dale Tallon to hand them 2/3 of a top line because he hates computers.

They only had a deep draft in 2017 because teams used it as a way to get rid of contracts and galaxy-brained the expansion draft. The rules of the draft were "Vegas gets to take a 10 dollar bill from each team" and teams were tripping over themselves to pay $9 to get Vegas to take a 5 dollar bill instead.

Exactly. Most people thought that MN was one of the teams that got screwed the most in the ED by giving up Haula and Tuch. I can tell you at the time that NOBODY was complaing about giving those players up, and most thought Fletcher did a great job by doing that and not giving up more established players like Brodin, Staal, or Dumba.

VGK has done a spectacular job of ID'ing and developing talent. Just as impressive is their ability to execute on the ice.

Having said that, I wish the Wild could face them more. For some weird reason, we kick their ass on a regular basis.
