Terrible turnover by Lockwood in the Bruins end. comes across the blue line, stops and looks, nobody near him. Sends a cross ice pass easily picked and the Bruins break out and Hofer is forced to make a big save.

McKenzie a simple rebound tap in off a blocked shot in front.

The Bruins had a glorious chance, but the puck jumped over the open man's stick. Comets countered and the goal ensued.

Comets getting sloppy in their own end and also in the neutral zone.
Turnover after turnover and as usually happens when this is going on Anas gets 2 minutes. His first of the season.

Shot right off the draw. Save by Hofer. One timer from the left wing and it's in.

Last minute of the period goals are just killers. Instead of taking a 2-0 lead into the locker, it's 2-1 and the Bruins have life.

19:25 and it's 2-1.

The Comets seem to want to work slowly in their own zone and keep turning back at any pressure . The result is they are pinned in. They are moving in slow motion. There is no chemistry with any of these lines.

Comets turn it over at the blueline and the Bruins come back in 2 on 1 and Lantosi simply just kept skating right to the net and scored on the doorstep. He was literally able to skate right into the goal.

2-2

These 2 teams have not seen each other this season and the Bruins appeared to just be feeling things out in the first. They have come out now with a specific plan. Forecheck the HELL out of them and the Comets are wilting like cool weather flowers in the hot summer sun.

Cameron gets in clean and can't get the backhander into the net past the fallen keeper. He missed sliding it in and th e puck went past the net.

The Comets keep on it on it. Keeper another stop off a point shot. The keeper is on the ice belly down laying kittycorner across the crease and McGing shot the puck into the goalie's glove on the ice.
What a missed opportunity

Comets have allowed the Bruins to come all the way back. Lantosi again.

Cross ice pass from the outer edge of the left wing circle and Lantosi onetimer on the fly passed a helpless Hofer.

3-2 Bruins

2nd ends and the Comets trail 3-2.

SOG:
Comets - 13
Bruins - 19

2-period total:
29-21 Providence

The Keppen/Kaspick/McGing line has been victimized for both Lantosi goals which both ended up 2 on 1s. Teves /Eliot on the 1st one and Reinke /Tucker on the 2nd.

3rd has barely started and the Bruins scored in 27 seconds.

Lockwood turned it over a t right wing blue line. The Bruins brought it back in with a shot and Hofer stopped it. Bruins regained it on the right side boards and Senyshyn found himself dead center between the hash marks and he buried it.

4-2 Hope I'm wrong but I think this one is over.

There is no offensive threat whatsoever from any line. They either dump it in or carry it in and can't pass it to anyone. In either case the Bruins either send it right back out or take the failed attempted pass or shot and come back out.

13:15 to go inthe 3rd and the Comets get theuir 1st PP

Jackson REinke AnasJohn Stevens Jasek. What a mess

N. Stevens Focht McGing Eliot McKenzie Another mess

Come on Cull you have to assemble one good unit and then go with your best 3 remaining forwards and 2 D.

Nope assmble 2 shit units and end up going to the PK yourself.

Comets get lucky and the Bruins get called for interference at the Comets blueline.

4 on 4

2 on 1 again with Lantosi in possession and he's stopped by Hofer's glove deflecting it out of play.

Nolan Stevens has been considered a disappointment by the Blues and San Antonio fan bases. They have counted on him to be a goal scorer. Instead he has mostly been a setup man. He has 8 assists and only 2 goals in his 10 points with the Comets in his 12 GP.

What?

Neither the Blues or San Antonio fanbase considers Stevens as a disappointment. He was never really considered to be more than a B-level or maybe even C-level prospect. We mostly view him as a gritty two-way player who's defensively responsible and could develop himself into a 4th line (injury replacement) player, no one is expecting him to become more than that due to his subpar skating. We don't expect him to be a sniper. To be fair, Stevens actually did really well last year considering he started the year with the Rampage as a healthy scratch and gradually had to work his way into the line-up. He eventually got 31 points (9 goals) in 50 games mostly from the Rampage third line with a limit-ish amount of minutes played.

Fitzpatrick has consistently been the #3 with 4 keepers having been on the roster and always 3 there. He didn't have a lot to do, but made a couple big stops. I thought he was attacking the puck instead of just easily playing the shot and turning the rebounds to the corners or holding on. Shaky on even stopping a covering a slow puck gliding in on him. Failed to cover it and turned it over. As orca says he's St. Louis property, but with the way Hofer has played Fitz has slid down the depth chart. Gillies and Hofer are St.Louis contributions to the Comets and they have been the best keepers here without a doubt to date.

The Blues are blessed with really good goalie prospects with Joel Hofer, Colten Ellis and Vadim Zherenko. Technically Fitz might be the most talented of the bunch. However, it seems like Fitz' suffers from some sort of mental issue that's holding him back and as long as he can't get his shit together he will never be more then a ECHL-level goalie. Last season he couldn't even secure a spot with the Tulsa Oilers and had to be temprarily loaned to the Brampton Beast untill the Blues had to pull him from there aswell. I'm still hoping he can figure 'it' out, but I don't see that happening soon unfortunatly.
