Ban shot blocking altogether, it's not good for the game, it also looks ridiculous with 6 goalies on the ice. Make a rule where skaters can't go down to one knee.

The video sort of suggests that a player is looking to block a shot everytime he is the shooting lane, which isn't true. Interesting nonethelss.

That's some of the guttiest toughest parts of playing that make you love a player. A guy willing to take a 100MPH puck with little padding to stop a goal and you don't like that? It's great D why ruin the game?

Shot blocking sometimes is necessary but it's a second-rate defensive skill. A first rate one is being able to break up plays with stick work so that the scoring chance and shot doesn't develop in the first place.

Reduce player padding and leave shot blocking as is. Cooper shoulder pads for everyone.

Shot blocking has no inherent value.

It's not bad if you're near the top of the league in blocked shots (Tanev) and it's not good either (Girardi)

The value of the player depends on other factors.
