OK I dont see a thread anywhere about HF settings etc, so I'll ask here. All of a sudden whenever I log in it says I have an alert (the red dot next to the bell at the top of the screen) So I went into alert preferences and unchecked all alert notifications, but I still get alerts about random people uploading an image, and its people outside of our NJ Devils board? Anyone else getting these alerts ? Its been happening since Saturday 6/22 after I uploaded the Clarktard gif.

Yeah, I get that too. Never bothered to figure out how to stop it.

are the alerts all from one thread? what’s the common denominator? maybe you clicked ‘watch thread’ by accident

no they are from random people in other threads on different teams boards, and I went into settings and "unchecked ALL alert preferences" I just don't get it, it must be a glitch.

Speaking of glitches, I'm still getting this thing where certain youtube videos are magnified 100x so all I see is a pixelized skate, part of a jersey, or in the case of a closeup a really large nostril.

Not all video's though.

Hover over Alerts, then click on Alert Preferences. You'll be here:

Uncheck stuff you don't want alerts for, then scroll down and click Save Changes.

I dont have or use HF on my phone, if the problem persists I will try it on my phone.

try turning it off, waiting 47 seconds, then turning it back on

This is a good idea, because yesterday I turned it off for 46 seconds and it didnt work, so I then turned it off for 48 seconds and that didn't work either, so 47 has gotta do it !

I cant even count how many things I've fixed myself over the years via Youtube or DIY message forums that I would have had to pay someone to fix for me 20 years ago.

Fixed my toilet just last week. Automotive is another BIG one as your post notes. Even if it's someone I know how to do like changing brakes or an air filter, if it's on a new (to me) car, I'll watch a video to write down all the correct size sockets/bits I'll need, etc...

I use the forums a lot at work when helping customers and their diy projects.

Crazy just how specific you can get, both in term of a particular machine and the problem.

Today's issue was interesting in that I just googled: Honda civic tail lights stay on, and not only did i get a diagnosis, but I also got a solution that involved a penny and double sided tape.

Yeah. Both of my car's mirrors and housings were busted from various street parking shenanigans and sideswipes. It's a Volvo, so dealership quote was $600 all-in.

I bought both mirrors and housings off of eBay for $160, spent another $10 to get the right socket I needed, and watched a 5 minute video on Youtube.
