I figure with sports betting now "legal" and many new apps populating both the TV commercials it would be fun here to talk about some of the bets we plan to take, recently took, or killed it with.

There are many new programs out there that offer free $$ just for signing up. Also if you like to track your bets, I suggest "The Action Network" app. It live tracks your bets, giving you a % chance of winning the bets etc. Can also add people as followers so they can see what bets you take.

I have recently been focusing on NBA, particularly quarters & halves. For tonight with OKC vs. Pistons, OKC spread for Q1 is the way to go. They are a really good 1st quarter team that usually falls apart later. Is a + margin home Q1 team also. I plan to look into other picks also such as Boston spread vs. a Miami team that played OT last night against Toronto.

Degenerates unite!

I usually just do a parlay of the Sunday NFL or high game 8+ NHL nights on money lines.
Unless you are betting the house, I don't see anything wrong with it. Well except HC who is a HIGH $$$$$$$ roller ;)

FoxBet has a free $20 just for signing up. No deposit required. Or I can give my referral link for Fanduel and we both get $50 after you deposit $10 and make a place (which is risk free and you get back anyway), but thats not the point of this thread lol

FWIW, I havent placed a single dime of my own money into my accounts.

I am not a high roller. If I actually was I’d be homeless at this point.

The "Degenerates Unite!" was a joke.

As you can see by the rest, I do my fair share but yes I keep it to a minimum.

In all seriousness, the most free money of the entire sports betting calendar is the NFL Combine. Pay close attention to it.

That means I have to drive to AC.

We’re friends now and you can trust me. I’ll sell you my Oregon future for $1,000. Deal of century.

Maybe I would do that if there was a physical ticket to acquire, but you'll never know now.

Curious. Why the NFL combine? Im a stats guy, so NBA and such I can run data trends and whatnot to run some picks. Curious about the combine.

Also HC, I think we need a Thread Title change to be more "official"

To be clear, I'm not remotely a sharp anymore. There was a point in my life when I did do this to that degree. Now I just know some smart people and I play small outside of when things cross into "free" money territory.

The NFL Combine is so profitable because we have a combination of patently absurd numbers and a record of some/many of the players in question from their college and high school testing as well as Track and Field records. If you go back to before last year's Combine, you'll find this:

I haven't had a chance to dig through them all yet, but the QB 40 times are always hilarious. I would imagine I go OVER 4.71 on Haskins and OVER 4.37 on Murray unless I really like what I find deeper. Metcalf being at 4.59 makes no sense.

Highest vert UNDER 43.5 might be worth a play too, but I'm not positive. I need to look into guys like Dexter Williams more first.

Bryce Love has 40 time props at multiple books.

OT: - Philadelphia Eagles: Super Bowl LIII Edition

Our vacation this year was paid for by a couple of key Combine outliers -- Haskins and Metcalf's 40 times. Haskins has a whole bunch of correlations working against him including surface metrics like YPC, but you can watch him once and laugh at that number.

I also bet Murray's OVER. In some later post, I explained that this was because I expected him to put on weight, since that's what the NFL would want to see. He did exactly this, but sadly did not run the 40.

Metcalf was a straight line burner. You watched him run away from SEC DBs at will, both with and without the ball. This was just taking where the player wins and using common sense.

As to the Dexter Williams comment, we had official Track and Field records for Jumps. This stuff is often out there waiting to be found if you spend a little time digging it all up for the appropriate players.
