Thornton is still recovering to some extent from his knee injury last year which means people can focus more on Burns and if neither are dangerous and with enough ice to make plays, Pavelski becomes more or less useless on his own. The Couture-Hertl duo is doing wonders but their 3rd line and 4th line is pretty mediocre for the most part. And other than Burns and now Heed when he is in the lineup, they don't have much in the way of offensive intelligence from the blue line.
