I just put Dirty Pop by NSync and Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO on my latest mix cd. Come at me Big.
You're just as bad as an Ohio State fan.

a live Braxton album that smokes.
I don't feel like filling out everything, so I'll just make my own list. Got a problem? I'll fight you through my monitor.
All-Time:
Rise Against
Social Distortion
Blink 182
Shinedown
Green Day/The Offspring...idk
Right Now:
Glaskas (Afrikaner band)
Silbermond (German)
Shinedown
Dropkick Murphys
Halestorm
I'm a big fan of foreign music. Ek luister musiek uit Suid-Afrika, Germany, Iceland, Greenland, Bulgaria, Northern Ireland, Canada, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
It's been awhile since we've done this. It's always fascinating to me to see the different groups and music people are listening to. Fill out the survey below and add whatever you want including videos, band sites, backstage stories, tour riders, etc.
If you don't know what tour riders are, go look up your favorite band here - some are entertaining, some are stupid.
Be nice. Contrary to what some here believe, Metal is not the only music that doesn't suck.
He did the same thing when they were on tour with Adema and Drowning Pool. As I was rolling my eyes, my one friend (who got me the ticket since he had a last second cancellation) was over there saying how bad ass it was. Yeah....except that it wasn't. It would have been more bad ass if he did the entire set like that.Disturbed...they were opening for Danzig, and the lead singer gets wheeled out on a Hannibal Lecter gurney. It was the corniest thing I've ever seen.
Artist you'd most like to meet/drink with
Ian MacKaye.
Band that you'd love to see in concert but it can never happen
I'll echo SomeDude's choice of Elliott Smith. A lot of the bands I like that have broken up were very much "in the moment." Seeing a band like Minor Threat now might be a little depressing.
Ian MacKaye came through here a few weeks ago and played a small hall with his current band The Evens. Had planned on going to see if there was a chance that he attempted to do an acoustic cover of a minor threat song, but ended up working late.
As much as I would like to see a Minor Threat reunion, I'm mixed on it. Like you said, it would probably be depressing. Most of the previous members are no longer musically active. Lyle Preslar is a lawyer and "split from the hardcore scene in 1983" (his words in this podcast that I just started listening to about 5 minutes ago: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/going-off-track/id518190148?ign-mpt=uo=4#), and Jeff Nelson sounds like he's musically retired. The bigger question is would Ian's voice be able to handle a full set of vocals from 30 years(!) ago?
In fact, there's been a ton of stuff that I wanted to see this year and missed.
FLAG reunion at Stage AE: bought tickets, worked late (on a Friday no less), didn't leave the office until almost 9. Heard the show had good reviews too, especially considering Keith Morris is probably pushing 60 by now.
Pennywise at Altar Bar. Wanted to go, was scheduled to be out of town. Ended up flying back in earlier that day. Was so tired that when I got back to my living room that I fell asleep in my chair with the laptop opened, ready to order tickets.
You forgot your favorite song
though Dropkick Murphy's sort of covers the same thing
seriously though, good list. though the foreign stuff is beyond me. except for the canadien stuff which I barely consider foreign.
Canada is Minnesota II. I usually get bored and look up bands from random countries.
Edit: Your video doesn't work.
I feel like the Metal Circus EP is somewhat unappreciated, even though it has some great songs on it. I feel like it's a perfect mix of their more hardcore stuff and the more ambitious things they'd try later.
4. Tammy Wynette
The crucial bit is people tend to really admire everything they've done. Except this. I think I'm the only person who really loves and defends it.
It might disappoint a little, haha. Outside of Howlin Wolf, I wouldn't have any electric blues players on my list. He's the exception to the rule - I'm a country blues fan.
Robert Pete Williams, your boy Mississippi John Hurt (the most melodic of 'em eh?...sounds unlike anybody else around the Delta), Charlie Patton, Son House, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Skip James, Robert Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson, Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Willie Witherspoon etc.
I'll go ahead and assume I'm the only 70's prog rock fan here. Classic Yes, Genesis, King Crimson.. that's where it's at.
Les Rallizes Denudes
Jesus Lizard
Dirty Three
The Braxton is Dona Lee, live in Sweden from '71 or '72. Just beautiful playing, free from his more dissonant, systematic stuff.
I've never heard of at least 3/4 of the bands/people mentioned in this thread. Apparently I'm some sort of Philistine
you also hate the only good grunge band
there's no hope for you kid. stick with the disney soundtracks.

On the contrary, the "Eight Miles High" single was released on CD and 10" with the "Makes No Sense at All" single back in the early '90s. It's still available through Amazon. You have to fork over something like $10 (if you opt for the CD) for four tracks and "Makes No Sense at All" is identical to the album version as far as I know. But still!from the earlier years, i've always liked their cover of Eight Miles High. i imagine that song has to be hard to track down - i don't think it showed up on any albums and as you and Bruno have mentioned nobody should hold their breath for an remastered albums or compilations.
Yes! NWOBHM might be my favorite musical epoch.i'm digging this - does this constitute NWOBHM?
surprised that i didn't catch your eye when i mentioned that i picked up an album of the music that Popol Vuh composed for the Agguirre soundtrack.
I think this thread might be a bit too big a can of worms for me open up.
I could probably spend an entire day thinking about and articulating a response.
