Oops, fake news right there. Amazing what photoshop can do!
Yes, let’s do it - let all DPE 0.8 era adjusted ppg Hart / Lindsay, Art Ross winning players join. Won’t be that crowded I think.
I don’t think they’re first ballot HOF’ers but they’ll make it for sure.
I never stayed up to watch the SEDINS themselves. I stayed up plenty to watch the Canucks depending on who they were playing. I'd stay up to watch Stamkos or Ovechkin or Crosby if they played on the west coast.
I never stayed up to watch the SEDINS themselves. Whatched hundreds of Canucks games over their time-period.
Valeri Bure obviously. Pavel never played for the Flames. A Flames fan saying the Sedins do not deserve to be in the HOF is like Leafs or Habs fans saying Daniel Alfredsson do not deserve it either. You know there's an agenda behind this
What a disgraceful thread
They were great players that took some time to get there but they belong in the hall at some point, whether it's 1st ballot or not is TBD. Add in the fact that they were identical twins drafted back to back, etc. and they really are unique. Their ability to cycle the puck was elite, I wish I had a dollar for every time that they cycled the Oilers to death in our crappy years.
I really don’t care about the Sedins in the Hall or not. They will get in for the entirety of their story and accomplishments, Right or wrong.
But, can you or someone else tell me why Theo Fleury so obviously belong there over them. I looked him up - yes just Wikipedia and Hockey ref - and I see nothing.
Let’s start with Henrik Sedin - Hart, Art Ross, two 1st all star. What does Fleury have to match and overwhelmingly surpass? I don’t see anything at all whatsoever. I see one SC, am I wrong - missing a few more an a Coon Smythe? The list of players with one SC vs the list of those with one Hart - what is your honest a assessment?
Fleury unfortunately was hampered by his personal issues. He would probably be a slam dunk hhofer without them.
As for why he should get in over the Sedins? I guess cause he was a flame??
At least they have each other. OP has nobody.
Also, OP has no point, while Henrik and Daniel have hundreds.
There’s a lot in the HOF with a lot less hardware...
Stanley Cup, over a PPG, 455 goals (1088 pts) in less games played by about 300 (1084),8 30+goal seasons, 3 40+ goal seasons, 51 goal season, 2 100 point season's. Fierce competitor.
As far as overcoming all odds (making him that competitive warrior that he was), was dirt poor, alcoholism in his parents, had neighbors who bought his equipment and took him to games, molested/raped for a long time by his junior coach while 15 yrs in Junior (playing at 140/lbs in major junior), drafted in the 8th round. Maybe the smallest player ever for most of his career af 5'6". Eventually filled out some to about 175 lbs but still remains as one of the smallest players of all time, especially superstars. That's all context above and beyond numbers.
And btw, Trevor Linden finished with 375 goals.
The Sedins: 240 and 393 respectively.
i dont know why tf we are talking about theo fleury but theo fleury was a great player. he was also a totally unique and memorable player. we will never ever see another theo fleury and he belongs in the hall of fame unquestionably.
so were the sedins. so was pavel bure, cam neely, rod langway, guy carbonneau. those of us who followed those low career point totals players will tell our grandkids about them someday.
whereas i don’t remember a damn thing mike gartner ever did outside of an all-star game skills competition. the only pierre turgeon goal i remember was the one where hunter decapitated him after. there’s your theo fleury needs to be in the hall of fame and these guys don’t argument.
It’s not even a question of IF the Sedims make it in, the only question is when.
they bring something unique to the NHL that has never been seen before, they had fans across the world stay up to watch them.
Hockey is about more than goals and assists.
The wise thing to do is to lay low for a few days and let this atrocious thread sink to the bottom and maybe everyone will forget how silly this is.
Yet you keep bumping this thread and repost the same argument over and over again as if it will suddenly become valid point.
If your agenda is because Theo Fleury isn’t in the HF so no one else can, then go make a thread about it instead of making stupid points about Trevor Linden > Sedins.
They may get in due to twin connection story, but they don't deserve to be there for sure.
they 100% deserve to get in
Maybe in 20 years. Maybe.
Guys it’s his opinion if he thinks they are hhof worthy.
Let’s just remember, the fans have no say wether they make the hhof or not.
If a maximum of 4 players can be inducted per year to the HHOF, then on average, each draft class these days will likely see 2-4 HHOFers (allowing for the maximum not being reached and/or older inductees prior to whatever the modern rules are).
Given that there are about 15+ active draft classes in the game, a conservative range of 30-60 current NHLers can be expected to be HHOFers with the induction rules unchanged.
The Sedins are absolutely HHOFers.
It's the HHOF not the NHLHOF, they have very solid international careers too. Gold medals at the EJC, Olympics and WC.
