99% outside the top-2 needs 2 years before they are NHL ready. You aren't getting an NHL ready player by trading up
Certainly not but I’d expect someone to make the jump in one year or so. But I have issues with Pod aside from when he might come over though.

So splain me then.

There were 4 confused humans on TV when the Rangers took Kravtov last year.
Everybody expected them to take that goalie at the top of the second.
Right?
I think one poster predicted Lias.
This is the second overall pick. They would not survive the media scrutiny. Or well, not really since the knicks are proof this is bullshit. That being said Kravtsov clearly had great tools as opposed to a guy like Wahlstrom but tell me who is better than Kakko and Hughes in any way?

Yes. Agreed. I would go with Podkolzin around 10. But some team will take him before that.

I'm not so sure of that.

It almost feels like he's been in the 3 slot out of sheer reputation and group think. The U18's have an effect on what happens in the draft and his "poor" showing coupled with some really strong ones will get him sliding. There are a ton of guys outside of the top 2 who look like they'll be one and done.

Unless he rips it up from here on out, I'd be surprised if he goes in the top 10.

What Podkolzin has said was that he does not want to come over if he isn't ready to play in the NHL. If a team feels comfortable bringing him over, he can buy out his contract.

Player-elected buy outs happen from time to time in the KHL, for various reasons.

My reservations regarding Podkolzin are not because of his contract situation. It's his lack of performance in the MHL and VHL. He just isn't that good unless he plays for the national team.

Not to appear condescending, but, if you’re seeing that, I’m wagering big money that the Rangers are seeing it, too.

Yeah, his numbers are shockingly unimpressive.

If you compare him to Kravtsov age-by-age it's like a man vs a boy so far.

EHT first. That could be an interesting tournament for Ranger fans to watch with potentially Georgiev, Kakko, Reunanen, Rykov, Chytil and Lundqvist
