Senators probably want to see what they have in him at the NHL level before figuring out what to do with Pageau/Tierney.
They know what they have or they would have brought in up sooner. This is a reward for being the best player in the world.

chucky-norris-batherson would be a wicked line

2a. Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
2b. Paul-Pageau-Brown
3a. Duclair-White-Ryan
3b. Anisimov-Tierney-Hawryluk

Assuming Ryan comes back in the near future
Assuming Pageau is extended (or before July 1st)
Assuming Namestnikov and Ennis are traded for a 3rd/4th each

Expecting Smith to have lines that makes no sense as usual though

Psyched to get a glimpse of him at this level, he's been unreal in the A.

Is it bad that the thing I remember Deano the most for is being laid the f*ck out by Pronger?

Pronger was my childhood hero, that was a real moral dilemma. What an elbow though, that Downie hit didn't do him any favours either.

First of all, maybe have a thread title that actually gives the info?

Second of all, what a dumb move by the org.

Presuming he goes right back down to ensure his AHL playoff eligibility

I think it's a great move to give guys like Norris and Formenton and possibly Abramov a 5 game taste so that they go into summer training having lived the gap between the AHL and the NHL.

How so?

Norris has earned the opportunity. He will likely be back in Belleville to finish the season. The organization likes to give its younger players gradual experience and there’s nothing wrong with it.

Excited to see him pay. Huge part of the rebuild.
Didn’t even know about this. How much does he owe?
You’re right, that could really help with melnyk spending habits (assuming it’s a substantial amount)

kids a long way from home a little extra money is probably good for him and a good thing for the team to do for him.
plus he will be going into summer knowing the NHL is a lot tougher than the AHL. It will give him a little extra drive to work harder

I heard about this on SensReddit

Melnyk is asking prospects to pay (or forfeit in future salary) $100,000 per call-up.

This new payment plan is the most ingenious way to ensure the success of this organization.

Gary Bettman quoted “Eugene is a genius! We have a special 8’ x 6’ room being made in the Hockey Hall of Fame for him”

Norris is not going to save this team, this is a process that is going to take a few yrs, but the good news is that they have plenty of good young players that collectively in time will make this team a playoff contender.

Played over 15 minutes in his debut.

Theres no problem with how DJ allocates his minutes. There is a method to his madness (ie some disproportionately high mins for Connor Brown).

Play the game hard and at both ends of the rink. Keep your feet moving. Do that and you get to play, regardless of your age or size.

And I'll mention once again that when you dont demand that from your players, you could end up like the Toronto Maple leafs - An incredibly skilled team with no heart that cant score on a zamboni driver some nights.
