I’ve always been a Hayes Carll fan.....as a songwriter.

But as a vocalist, he’s just not good....That song would have been a hit, if it had someone who could sing it decently.

There’s nothing worse than a country singer with an exaggerated southern accent......but that’s just me.

Keith Urban fits into that category as well......he’s from Australia FFS..

When you say Keith Urban, I think Nicole.

Needles & Pins, one of my favorites.
Needles and Pinsa, a most memorable line. Sonny Bono wasn't the greatest singer or actor, but he could write a song.
Co-wrote this using the moniker Don Christy.

His only solo top ten.

Mott covered it on their first album.

Stones or Mott or Gypsies, tramps and thieves?

First time hearing Same Stone...Nice.

I was fortunate to see Prine play in Hamilton Ontario 3 years ago. I wasn't familiar with stuff. Now a big fan.

First time I saw John Prine was at the Music Inn. Played after Jonathan Edwards and Jerry Jeff Walker. Was there to see Jerry Jeff. Didn't know Prine. What a treat he was. He stole the show.

Sammy Davis had a hit with Candyman. Rev. Gary Davis was the Candyman.

Donovan sang his praises.

The Airplane guys took of with it with Papa John on fiddle before he did his Pizza thing.

Remembered when Wayne Newton had a couple of cameos on Bonanza as Andy. It all comes together for me now, Little Joe was the one who corrupted the young Wayne taking him to that saloon. Next thing you know he's hanging around casinos in Vegas for the next fifty years.

Danke Schoen made me think of Fraulein. After seeing Elvis a young Townes Van Zandt implored his father to buy him a guitar. Dad relented but insisted he would have to learn Fraulein, a Country hit by Bobby Helms., and sing it to him. Townes did, and later recorded it. Don't think he ever played Vegas though.
