I just read an article that said the Rangers inquired about trading for Eichel and were told the price would be Lafreniere + Kaako + 1st.

I'm assuming the article is just media fodder, but if not, are thr Sabres delusional? Anyone who thinks they get that return is out of their minds.

Yeah, I'm guessing something like that is a baseline to start with. Teams can bid against each other from there.

Yeah that’s a ton but seems about right for the initial ask. Would you trade Matthews for that? No. Probably wouldn’t be jumping to trade Eichel for that, either, but if you’re backed into a corner it looks nice
