The Penguins have a stupid amount of skilled players. If you go with 4 forwards you still need a net front guy (either Kunitz or Morrow) so one of Crosby, Malkin, Neal, or Iginla would be relegated to the 2nd unit that gets pretty much garbage time. How should the sugar time be divided?

Is it time to give Sid and Geno their own units?

Do you go All In with 5 forwards?

Interested to hear what you guys think!

1st Line

Iginla-Crosby-Morrow
Letang-Malkin

2nd Line

Kunitz-Sutter-Neal
Murray-Martin

Iginla definitely needs to be on the first line because of his right hand shot.

I've always thought we were one good forward away from 2 units. Now with iggy that's what they should be doing. I like your first 2 units you proposed. I also like Kunitz and Morrow to both supply net front traffic.

I don't understand why you would weaken 1 PP unit to make a 2nd unit stronger.

The goal of a powerplay is to score a goal. Not to put the best players out there for the 2 minutes and play keep away.

Load the first unit with everything we have and keep them out there for 1:30ish.

I think Iginla should be tried at the point. He's played there numerous times and does a great job there. He definitely has a shot that has been missing on the Pens point since Gonchar.

Iggy left wall. Geno right wall. Martin center point. Neal slot and net front. Sid roaming. That'd be nuts to watch. So many one time options.
