I need to get a few off my chest. Maybe this will get the ball rolling and make people comfortable enough to let it go in here?

2000: Lars Johnsson (8) and Martin Samuelsson (27).

Really? Two whiffs in the same round, both on Swedes? It’s unfortunate that PJ couldn’t have gone back in his DeLorean and warned them.

2001: Shaone Morrisonn (19)

Hello? Roy? Cammilleri? Pominville? I can’t bring myself to say Plekanec. I would rather whiff on a 1st than draft Turtleneck.

2002: Hannu Toivanen (29)

Nuff Said.

2003: Mark Stuart (21)

One of my most painful draft memories. The B’s trade down from 16 to 21 and miss out on Getzlaf, Parise and Burns. Not only that, but with the 21st pick, they select Mark Stuart instead of Corey Perry, Mike Richards, and Ryan Kesler.

It’s like in the Road Runner cartoons. when not only does Wile E. fall off the cliff, but the TNT comes down with him, and a boulder lands on top, trapping him with the explosives.

I still haven’t recovered from this one.

2007: Zach Hamill (8)

The 8 spot was not kind to the B’s in the 2000’s (see Johnsson, Lars). I saw Hamill play in PRO 5/6 times the year he turned pro and knew he was a bust.

Couture, Shattenkirk, Pacioretty, Perron.

Those were just a few.

To me, the 2015 draft should be link to the 2006 and 2011 draft, not 2003, 2007 and all. The 2003 and 2007 draft are an hindsight thing, the 3 others were not.
But but, why compare those 3 draft?
2006: There's clearly a top 5, Bruins pick fifth. They take the fifth guy from the CLEAR top 5, They could have go for Brassard, they could have go for Mueller, Okposo would have been a prototypical Bruins at the time, but no, they drafted Kessel who was universally seen as better, but was clearly the definition of a "non-Bruins" player. Result = Win for the Bruins

2011: There's a big 8, Bruins pick 9th, someone reach. There's one member of the big 8 at 9th. Bruins could have go for Beaulieu or at the time reach in Brodin, but they did go with the universally best available player. Reslut = Win for the Bruins

2015: There's a big 12, Bruins picks 13-14-15th. Two teams reach. There's two of the top 12 available for the Bruins. Bruins don't pick either and goes in the next gap of talent level for Zboril and Debrusk and go another gap further with Senyshyn. Result = Not much of a win for the Bruins.

We had McLeish and Leach the Flyers nucleus and traded then
Could have had a dynasty in the 70’s. Also really dropped the ball drafting Mike Parson and Shayne Stevenson ahead of Nicklas Lidstrom, 89 was way worse than 2015. Two of the greatest defenseman of all time could have been on the same team.

You forgot Matt Lashof in 2005. We could of had Oshie or Niskanen which would of certainly guaranteed more cups for the Bruins and none for the Caps. Oh the agony.

If this is supposed to be a place to comment on the 2015 draft only, then why are most posters, including the one who created the thread, talking about other drafts? It is being derailed already.
