This win against New England feels so unsatisfying. Maybe because it guarantees Tomlin will remain head coach until the Sun goes supernova.

I disagree. It takes them out of the equation for a bye. It's huge. And let's face reality. We have 2 years left of Ben. The Tomlin era ruined it short of a miracle run to get 1 more SB. As is, they left a SB on the table for sure. Tomlin's era is basically going to be defined as what was left on the table. Changing a coach now is near a hail mary.

It is what it is. Hope for a miracle and at the end of the day, we at least got 2 out of a shoe-in HOF QB. Should have been 3-4, but at least it was 2. Some "all time greats" only ended with 1 or even zero.

Post game show mention by Pompeani, "the first sports book bet made at Rivers casino this week was by a Steelers season ticket holder, who bet 11 grand on the Patriots."

So, for those of you keeping track, here's where the playoffs NOW stand:

Steelers (8-5-1) - at Saints, Bengals
Ravens (8-6) - at Chargers, Browns
Titans (8-6) - Redskins, Colts
Colts (8-6) - Giants, at Titans

2-0:
(a) The Steelers are the #4 seed and host whichever of the Chargers/Chiefs lose the West.

1-1:
(b) #4 seed IF the Ravens finish 1-1 or worse.
(b) #6 seed and play at Texans or Pats IF Ravens win out and neither Colts nor Titans finish 2-0.
(c) OUT if Ravens win out and one of Colts or Titans finish 2-0.

0-2:
(a) #4 seed if the Ravens finish 0-2
(b) Otherwise OUT. WC2 is NOT an option.

My advice: Root for the @MurrKess3081 and his Chargers next Saturday. Hard.

It felt like a playoff game at Heinz Field for much of this game. It was great to see the defense close out a game.

Let’s go Chargers next week

What a game. Kinda pisses you off how the last three weeks went, but beating New England will always be a great feeling.

Upset against New Orleans? How about another 6-7 game win streak?

Think our odds are better next year if Ben remains at this level. Conner/Samuels/Washington with more experience on offense.

The D has some young players who are emerging. All rides on what we do in FA(should add a top CB to go with Haden) and do well in the draft . Mack Wilson/Devin White at ILB and a top CB thru FA would go along way to making this D even better.

If they make the right moves this team will be a top contender next year. Watt will be even better. Hargrave. Haden still there. Heyward/Tuitt. Davis. So add that ILB and CB2. Would help out the whole defense.

It can happen. Seeing them finally get Washington involved was encouraging(been saying they were saving him as crazy as that sounds)...he was used as a blocker for most of the season. Now received most targets of his career and had two huge catches. With Eli out there as well that should open things up for AB/Juju ...McDonald. Conner back as well...duo of him and Samuels should be solid.

Defense winning this for us hopefully gives them the confidence they need to finish out the year and we see some more big plays.

Would have been nice to at least won one of those 3 games and basically have division wrapped up but I kind of like already being in playoff mode like 2005

That’s great...but is Tomlin still coaching?

Rather not think about it.

We need to win on talent.

Well unfortunately he’s a huge and probably the biggest draft decision maker in terms of selecting “talent” and he’s not been so good on the D side of the ball...Haden is up there in age and we need more talent at DB and LB in particular...so how we reload for next year with talent is very much in his hands too..

loved when they drafted Samuels and how he looked today

glad to see Eli Rogers contribute like I thought he would

I dont see how we'll beat the Saints unless they get beat up tomorrow and Connor is back and we score almost every possession

Still aways to go. Have this weird feeling they drop the Saints game, but end up making to the playoffs, avenging previous losses by beating the chargers and chiefs then make it all the way to the super bowl, and win, beating the Saints.

Crazy? Maybe. But it would be some weird poetic justice going on.

I agree and I've been saying this since Bell decided to walk.

Next yr is going to be our Best chance to win. Barring any serious or long term injuries to key players.

Use all that Cap room we will have to sign a #2 CB, maybe even one of the Ton's of good S's out there.

Then draft defense heavy (ILB, Pass Rushing OLB, CB) early in the draft.
We could very well solidify the defense if we just make the right moves.

Exactly. And going heavy on O this last draft allows us to do that for next draft which is very deep on D. I dontthink we can even mess it up. Yeah Burns and Edmunds, etc were bad picks in the first round but those classes werent deep. We missed out on the ILBs we wanted last year and reached on Edmunds. That wont be the case next year. So many good prospects in the top 100. Go heavy on D. Already added guys like Washington, Chuks, Samuels, and Rudolph for the offense. Id go Defense and Oline.

Use the money in FA on a top player...need to add that pro bowl type vet to go with the rest of these guys. Will help further their development. Like what Im seeing from alot of them...just need to fix a few areas(where guys arent necessarily bad but just arent playmakers) and I think this D can take that next step.

All it took was a few moves by the Bears and look at them now.

We have some solid pieces. Not far off from having a solid D.

And adding offense this past draft makes sure we dont take a step back there. Brown may be slowing down but Juju will(already is) a #1 ...Washington should turn into what we expected. Samuels showed what he is capable of with barely any experience. Pair him up with Conner and thats a very solid(and cheap) duo. Ben has to stay at this level tho. Very interested in seeing next camp/preseason...hoping Rudolph takes that next step. He has all the tools...and smarts.

We are getting older on our oline but good news is we have Munchak so should be fine there. Fine with drafting Wrs..Rbs..etc. Ben stays at this level next year and maybe Another...these next few year's will be our best chance. As long as we get a few top defenders to go with Watt and others. The positions we are getting older at...we are good at drafting so thats a good thing. Its a must we use the money thru FA in areas where we are poor at drafting.

 Wow. VERY NSFW language

Yikes.

Isn't he a game show host now or something? On cooking shows? I mean... he just says whatever he wants with no fear of losing his shows or "the twitter mob" coming after him like so many others.

I mean, yeah, Boswell sucks and still should be cut... but sometimes people go too far.

Just realised there is a good chance the Steelers don't make the playoffs.

Titans-Colts face each other in week 17, one of then is a lock for 10-6.

So the Wild card is out of reach.

We are not beating Saints at NO.

So the Ravens must lose one of their 2 games. They easily could. But they could also easily win both, with that great Defense they'll be in both games.

Assuming we beat Cincy. 9-6-1 will be our record.

Dec 1st, Pens lose to the Flyers. Dec 2nd, Steelers lose to the Broncos.
Dec 8th, Pens lose to the Sens. Dec 9th, Steelers lose to the Chargers.

Dec 15th, Pens beat the Kings. Dec 16th, Steelers beat the Pats.

Both teams like to lose/win together.... they love pouring it on.

So call me superstitious but we need to circle the 22nd against Hurricanes and the 29th against the Blues.

Ravens do their job...beat the teams they should and lose to the better teams. They lost 4 of 5 after starting the year off great(faced easy teams then tougher ones during losing streak). Then faced easier teams again and won 3 straight...lost to Chiefs the next week and beat Tampa today. They are the opposite of us lol.

So facing the Chargers...away...will be tough. Rivers could throw all over them and they have alot to play for. And that defense will be much better against Jackson running than these other Ds..with Bosa and Ingram on the edges. Teams will eventually figure out Jackson(or he will get hurt) ...cant see them beating the Chargers but who knows. Glad its on Saturday night, we will know before heading into our game again and it will be just like this week where its a must win(at the time) or we get pushed back to out of playoffs.

I also like the Saints are playing tomm night...thats a day less of rest and havent played the Panthers yet this year(2 out of last 3 games against them). Carolina lost 5 straight..basically out of it but still a tough team who usually have great games with the Saints. Looking for a physical game...few players missing next week
