Of course it’s the same car, it’s stock car racing. There are modifications allowed, but there are limits, and every team can them. So basically everyone is driving a Chevy Malibu with a$50k engine that produces 600 hp and a top speed of 200 mph. Theoretically this would show who the best drivers are, but b/c all they do is circles, it really only shows who has the best pit crew.
So to me stock car means what you would buy “off the shelf” which I’m pretty sure was the original intent. It was a normally stocked car.

Sadly the last vestiges of that died shortly after the sponsorship change. Its literally a chassis built and developed by NASCAR.

You see the same thing happen in video games a lot. By trying to make it fair and balanced across the board they suck out all of the stuff people liked about it to start with.

NASCAR started dying the day Dale Earnhardt died. He was relatable and likable.

NASCAR could also cut down on the number of races and make them bigger events. Or at least designate races as double point races. As it stands right now Daytona counts the same as the “Firekeepers Casino 400” maybe have a big iconic race once a month (Daytona, Darlington, Talladega) with those counting more in the standings.

It really is the same car? That's no fun.

It is called Spec racing. The Indy Lights are like that as are a lot of SCCA racing classes. IROC was also run that way with Porsche Carreras as the cars.

It reduces the costs for racing and is supposed to show who the best drivers are; not the richest teams or the best pit crews, like Formula 1.

It is also supposed to open up racing opportunities for regular people to drive versus trust fund babies or people who know the right people in racing.

Never really works that way though because the best teams will always find an advantage. They just end up spending that money on other areas.

Does anyone in Nashville care that they have an MLS team now? Read they have hard time selling season tickets.
i think there was a good amount of interest (me included) but the jack wagon of a mayor torpedoed that over the greater good for politics. the building of the new stadium should really help.

Okay, I'm now seriously irritated with Nashville SC for basically wholesale stealing the Crew's kit. Similar colors meant confusion was probably always going to be a thing, but this is absurd.

The two kits are hilariously identical. Columbus needs to bring back more black to their's and SC needs to incorporate more blue in theirs.
I was expecting more of the latter - that, or white accents. Nashville FC and Nashville SC seemed to like using white as the accent color rather than so-dark-blue-it-might-as-well-be-black, but they changed it up for MLS and I'm not sure why. Maybe MLS told them it'd be OK since the Crew wasn't supposed to exist anymore. :dunno: But the Crew's had that all-yellow kit for at least two decades.

I'm really hoping that advisory panel is made up of medical professionals from across the country and not a bunch of politicians. A quick google search didn't give me much in that regard.

NHL will be up next. Makes me wonder how a delay works for fans with tickets if it’s a postponement and not a cancelation.
