Glad that Raptors and Blues won their respective championship. A First for both. Hopefully some NHL team will end Patriots' domination soon.

This is what happens when you put competent people in charge regardless of what language they speak or nepotism.

Raptors with Ujiri, Shanna/Dubas with the leafs, the whole front office at TFC, Popp with the Argos...is it any wonder they've won championships (except the Leafs) and have bright futures?

Meanwhile here we have bafoons running the Impact, Habs and Als that have brought us zero championships in the last 10 years (26 years for the Habs), with pathetic records to boot.

So many lead changes and last 5 minutes were nuts. Well, last 0.9 seconds were kind of annoying, but yeah, great game.
Big time respect to the Warriors...showed true hearts of Champions the entire series.

Even after losing Klay Thompson they fought tooth and nail until the end.

But the Raptors were just too much for them this series. Best team throughout the playoffs won and they deserved it.

BTW - as a former basketball player, watching Klay Thompson shoot and repeat his form consistently, over and over again, no matter the circumstance, his footwork.

Just a thing of beauty

Good job Raptors. Now, will they visit the White House or The Parlement. :sarcasm:

Call me unpatriotic maybe, but the Blues win was far more enjoyable for me.

Well done, many questioned Leonard trade. Risk turned out to be well worth regardless of what happens with him now. Pretty impressive how Toronto with Raptors and Leafs finally understand you have to take risks to get nice things. Maybe some day Habs will embrace the same strategy.

I'm still in shock. As someone who's been around since the Andrea days it's just so surreal to be champs.
As someone who lived through those years as well and also watched the first ever Raptors basketball game...had you told me we'd be here 20, 15, 10, 5 or even 1 year ago.

I would called you crazy. The Toronto Raptors not too long ago were the armpit of the NBA, a joke a team who had a purple dinosaur on their jersey.

Vince Carter (who put basketball on the map in the country) wanted nothing to do with playing in Toronto anymore, McGrady had already left, Alonzo Mourning spurned them when he was traded there, Lebron James aka Lebronto basically owned them.

Now they're World Champions...just crazy.

It's a bit different in the NBA because one player, at least players in the tier of Kawhi Leonard (of which there are only 5-6), can singlehandedly make the difference for a team.

But I get what you mean...I mean think about it.

Masai traded a fan favorite and franchise leading scorer DeMar DeRozan, for a player who gave no indication he even wanted to play in Toronto never mind re-sign.

He fired the Coach of the Year and replaced him with a rookie coach who was coaching their D-League team.

Made another key trade at the deadline to reinforce their lineup (Gasol acquisition).

The one thing I got from that is if you want to affect change, meaningful change, you have to be willing to make decisions that aren't necessarily obvious or comfortable or might bring you unwanted negative press.

Masai is a BOSS!

Let's hope he doesn't get in trouble for this though
