Can't believe Graham was fired from the Grand Prairie hospital. Curious to see the backlash. Graham is a real pain in the ass to deal with, but they really follow contracts to the point where they are just being ridiculous. Can't see them leaving too many gaps that would cost them a job

Wonder what they'll have to say.

They said they weren't fired. They quit.

My god. Not surprised though. It's as if the AI and Graham have been on two different projects all along. Interesting if they quit though. Usually pretty hard to terminate those contracts, even when both sides clearly don't want to work together.

Quite the shitshow... announced in 2007 and still not close to completion 11 years later.

For those of us in Northern Alberta that rely on health services in GP... just another kick in the nuts from previous and current governments that give little to no f***s about services outside of their largest urban centres.

Residents in the north and especially seniors here already have to pay extra to travel back and forth to GP several times a year (or to Edmonton in some cases) and are penalized further by having to pay carbon taxes on top of those extra transportation costs. For most up here that's 900-1500 km round trip for each appointment (and often it's several 20 minute long appointments before anything is actually even done).

The specialists openly tell you the health infrastructure and resources in place can't handle the patient volume... and taking 11+ years (probably 15 years by the time they are done) to build more health infrastructure certainly isn't helping the situation.

Anyone get the amber alert on their phones? Apparently some carrier services sent it out. I never received one with Rogers, but saw the news all over social media when I got up.

Sounds like Amber alert is over.

Are you complaining about it? Maybe you're not tech wired in enough..;)

You can bet I didn't get any amber alert on my phones and I slept peaceably. Look, the world didn't end either after all...

But didn't you get an alert of the alert of the alert? ;)

I presume it was another test..

No I'm not complaining I'm asking as it was something that all cell phone providers were trying to do, but haven't been able to figure out for some reason yet.
. And no it wasn't a test, there was a girl taken out of North Battleford. The Henday had alerts as well this morning,

I had the alert on my phone last night. I seem to get alerts even from the USA. I think it's somehow linked to a weather app I have which then alerts to Amber Alerts in the areas that I have weather alerts from as well.

I'm aware of the rollout of the alert system. I'm less aware on the wide amount or range and situations in which it will be used and how many alerts that will mean on a regular basis once they work out the difficulties.

As per the 6yr old girl why was she left alone in the car, initially, by the parents. That would be a question that should be asked.

the girl is found and the alert cancelled btw. They still don't know who took her.

edit;

This detail now released;

"The girl had last been seen around 5 p.m. Sunday, in the backseat of an SUV that was parked with its engine running outside a strip mall in North Battleford, Sask."

When will people understand this is a VERY bad idea! I won't say more.

I use Bell and got the alert. Less than a minute later I got it on my tv while I was watching a show on crave tv.

Board question.

What does this mean?

I got that looking a profile.

Is that the new form of being banned or is it private?

Another board question - is there no longer the 'view ignored content' button? I always liked that as a way to vet if I needed to update my ignore list. Seems to have been taken away recently.

Hmm, maybe I'm being dumb but this just shows me the ignored threads I think. What I'm referring to is an old button that showed content from ignored users in a given thread temporarily. I don't see that anymore.

But thanks for your help!

Right now, the only way to see ignored content on a page, is when someone on your ignored list has posted to a thread after you've read it and no one that you haven't ignored has posted between when you last read the thread and the ignored person posting. On previous pages, it doesn't work.

IIRC...it said "View Ignored Content' and it was located at the bottom of each page in the thread. So once you finished reading that page you could click on it and see what some posters were responding to.

It was a useful feature IMO.

Lol at Canada Post thinking that going on strike would be a good thing.

Do they not realize they are already hanging on by a thread?

Let them go on strike so people can see just how useless Canada Post really is.

The fact that the government itself has slowly went away from snail mail should be a big tell

I thought they learned this the last time they threatened to go on strike and nobody noticed. It’s not the eighties anymore.

Heard in the news they want better working conditions. Have you ever been to a Canada Post warehouse? I use to pick up from the one in Whitehorse. It's the slackest work environment I've ever seen.

I don't even know what I actually get in the mail anymore. Most things either charge you or give you a discount to go online. Other places don't even offer mail anymore.
