Well here we go. This is where we can debate these two studs.
Heres my take:

Brule-His shot is the most inticing thing about this Vancouver Giant. Ive heard that he can absolutly snipe from everywhere. A gritty skilled guy who will take or make the hit to make the play. He isnt going to dangle end to end in the WHL. But has the skill to be an impact player every night.

Crosby-This kid is a world class talent. The skills that he has are absolutly breathtaking and is the best player on the ice almost every night. One can take into account that the QMJHL is not as competative as the the WHL and more of an offencive league. His stats might be a little bit inflated cause of the the league but I dont beleive it I think this kid will be amazing.

Overall-We will see all different Brule/Crosby comparasins all year long. They will no dougtly go 1/2 with Brule taking the backseat in this one. Crosby is an offensive genious with skills unmatched by anyone. Brule is more of a 2 way player but also has great offensive instincts and an unbeleivable shot. Should be interesting see these two "battle"for that #1 spot.

I dont think it's even close to call it a battle.

Brule will have a better battle to be #2 than the chance to be #1...

by the way the QJMHL is not as offensive as it was before.

Only 0,5 goals par game more than the WHL last year....

its not even close really. The QMJHL does not have the scoring records it once had. Seen both play live and Crosby is really pretty far ahead of Brule on the ice, Brule is special but Crosby is a prospect like super few.

To way Brule is 2 way and not mention Crosby is just wrong as Crosby plays really good defensive hockey to, his stats may indicate floater but he really is one of the 1st forward back to help.

Crosby might be fine defencivly but Brule has more grit and 2 way play to his game. I never said Sid was a floater, but his D is definatly not his strong point.

BTW I think this is closer than everyone thinks.

Crosby not defensive... ehh... you never saw Sidney play... maybe its not a strong point but hey... do you want Sid to play defense all of his career and when you got his offensive abilities, its sure that its his offense is strong point... if it was defense he would not be there, he's one of the best nics on defense so you dont know what you are saying

and Crosby is much liek a Lemieux type and Brulé a Nash type... i mean Brulé could be a #1 draft pick in every other draft but Crosby is just something rare... so its not even close

I just say let's them play, i seriously don'T care because the 250th pick this year could be better than anyone

Crosby is actually one of the best defensive player's in the QMJHL IMHO. Now if he was just a pure offensive player you would see his number's almost double..

It's true that Crosby is always the first forward to backcheck and he does it all the time. He's not a defensive specialist nor a checking center but he does backchecks, and he does it very well, everytime the opposite team is going on offense.

I would say defensive wise they are equal, people who have not seen Crosby play don't know how defensive he really is, Brule hits more than Crosby, but gritty Crosby is almost just as Gritty. I hate to sound like a Crosby homer but the kid really does it all, he can even throw hits when he wants to. Brule is more aggressive towards the hitting but Crosby is just as defensive as is evident that he hates to be on the ice when the other team scores and he does what it takes to stop the player from getting a clear shot.

I guess I have not seen Crosby play enough, so I guess I must be wrong about the defense. If Sid can do all that, he is gonna be one hell of player. The winner of this draft truely has won the lottery. BTW what is he sitting at, 20 pts in 6 games? Now that is nothing short of impressive. It will be quite the draft year for both Brule and Sid

People will get angry over this. I can see one person in particular coming into this and actually suggesting that Brule will push Crosby for #1 this year.

Look. People shouldn't take this personally. At this point in their careers, it would be like comparing Jaromir Jagr to Mike Modano in the NHL. Both players are clearly head and shoulders above their competition. It's still painfully obvious that Jagr is better than Modano though.

Note: This is not me comparing Sidney Crosby to Jaromir Jagr. Or Gilbert Brule to Mike Modano. It's an analogy.

First of all, both are great players.

However, there is no comparison. Brule has the unfortunate distinction of being a first overall calibre player in a draft that has a "player for the ages."

Brule certainly has the talent to be a superstar, but at this point in their development he can't compare to Crosby who has the talent to be a player who changes the game.

That's true... I gotta said that from what I've read Brulé looks like he could be a 1st overall pick on a normal draft. This one is obviously not.

I would honestly take Modanao over Jagr right now, buts thats just how i feel.

Not again.

This is not even close. Sidney Crosby is clearly the best prospect to come out of Canada in a long time, possibly the greatest prospect since Lemieux. Gilbert Brule may end up being a star in the NHL, but Crosby will likely end up being a superstar.

Fine, put it this way. Your bias is so heavy, you can't see the forrest for the trees.

Either way, the Caps hopefully are in line for one of the two. That's what matters to me.

I really hope that Crosby goes in a real hockey city. Not somewhere where they need someone to fill empty seats. I want him to be in one of those cities in brief : Montreal, Detroit, Toronto, Philapelphia, Vancouver, Minnisota, Edmonton or Calgary. (Maybe I forgot one or two). If ever he ends up in Carolina or Florida, it would be a disgrace.

He will end up in the city that finnish last (hopefully) and he will just have to prove to everyone that he has mario like talent and do the same thing Mario did with Pittsburgh...

I will put it in blood that if Crosby goes to one of the Canadian that he will bust. Why do i say that? because if any of those teams are in the position to draft him he will be looked at as a savior to that team and the Pressure will be too intense for him(NHL PRESSURE>>>>>>>>>>>CHL Pressure). Bust might be a strong word to say but with the way he is being pimped as a guaranteed superstar anything less than that will be a bust the way i see it.

I think Crosby will be good enough to win two or three straight cups in the NHL. Now before people start calling me a homer think about it. Edmonton built their team around Gretzky. They won four cups. Pittsburgh built form the ground up on Lemieux. They won two straight cups. I think with the potential this kid has he ca and maybe will lead his team to greatness. And may become a dynasty.

This kid has faced pressuer all his life and he was brought up learning how to deal with it. I don't think the presseur will bother him at all. He faced it in the Air Canada Cup and took his team to the finals as a double underager, he faced it in the Canada Winter Games with TSN following him around all day and him selling out the arenas up there and he took the tourny by storm and lead it in scoring at 15 years of age over guys like Wolski, McGrath, Chipchura, Brule, Bertram etc. He faced it in Shattuck and took the team on his back, and now he is doing it in Rimouski where people are waiting for him to show that he is human and now a bad game for him is 2 points in the game. This kid has always lived up to the hype where ever he goes.

Why I think you will be wrong is because he is dedicated to getting better, when you ask him what he needs to work on he says everything, and he take a practice like a game, he gets into a zone and he loves to learn and see what he is doing wrong and he is dedicated to working super hard to better himself. He seems to love the added pressure as he thrives on it and loves to be the main focus on the ice with the tag of savoir, he has grown up with it all his life as he was everything to his team ever since Peewee.

I won't call you a homer, I'll call you delusional.

Ever hear of guys named: Coffey, Messier, Andersen, Fuhr, Kurri, Lowe? How about some guys named Jagr, Francis, Barasso, Stevens, Samualsen?

Whereever Crosby ends up, he will be going to a really bad team. He will take his lumps initially, and he will have to hope that management is smart enough to get him the help he needs. He could end up on the Capitals, and all of their prospects develop, and they end up being a dynasty for 10 years. If that does happen, it won't just be based on Crosby though. It will be based on building a TEAM, because in hockey, TEAMS win championships, not individual players.
