No it's not. There's always been a realistic scenario where we bridge him even though he's in our long-term plans. We discussed them here all through the summer. That haven't changed.

I can’t see him deciding to take any sort of reasonable deal after 3 years playing with Matthews/Marner/Tavares etc. if he’s not willing to take a reasonable one now. I wouldnt say he gets traded right away but I would say either later this year or next. That’s if it’s a bridge though

The scenario is definitely there. Me personally, I think it's a bad idea. He'd have arbitration rights and most likely outprice himself out of our plans in the medium term.
