Never thought it would be cranked to 11. Ever.
Whats funny is that we don't even need this player... he's a luxery player for us...
Don't budge Dubas!!!
I also find it funny that Nylander uses the "I'm letting my Agent deal with it" line...
No... YOU'RE holding out.... YOU can sign the contract presented to you wheneverYOU'd like... Nylander may be getting some advice for the agent to hold out, but ultimately, the decision is up to him.
Sign for a reasonable deal or get traded Imo. I rather keep willy but we are stronger obviously with willy or whatever he returns. We are trying to win and getting a better seading for the playoffs is apart of that.
Every GM/Owner wants a "We before Me" thinking,, the Leafs just have the balls, and the team to say it
Want to play with AM? JT? NK, PM, MM? Want to be part of what could be the biggest celebration in hockey history? Want to be a legend? Or do you want to go to the highest bidder?
I had the opportunity to read the latest nhl.com article regarding Nylander. Still in Sweden, no urgency at all to at least be in Toronto to be prepared to play if a deal commenced. I'd like to see an immediate trade, he doesn't fit in with the culture the management are trying to build. Say what you will about Ennis, but he showed up early in Toronto ready to work to turn his career around. Nylander hasn't shown up to work!
In order of preference(and net team value):
Willy signed at 6 million long term
Willy signed to a bridge
Willy traded for defense
Willy signed at over 7.5 million.
This is without doubt one of the dumbest arguments you can make, did you watch the Matthews line last night?
It got feed it's lunch by a line centered by Max ******* Domi, Matthew's isn't God and thats what he's going to have to be to carry those other two passengers
How much would you give up for an RFA holdout 60 point winger who wants 8M+?
Nylander can also not sign with the team trading for him if he doesn't want to be there, like the Coyote's for instance
So we need a team with cap space, willing to overpay Nylander, has what we need as a return and he'd be willing to sign with
Good luck with that one
Just hold on a little longer Willie, the Leafs are going to cave soon...
Willy is very much like his dad. A global hockey player, he will visit KHL and many other leagues before he cashes his last cheque.
If they can flip him for a top 4 RH dman, I'd have to give that serious consideration at this point.
Still don't care, welcome to RFA negotiations in the cap world. It'll get done when it gets done.
Seems like a greedy family. Willy gotta get paid to make up for his brother being a bust. The nylanders need their $$$$
Exactly. Don't turn a fan favorite into whipping boy for no reason.
Why are we all turning on the player and supporting management. I refuse to do that. There is a market value for Willie, and the unknown variable of him being still very young and his potential being still unknown.
It's not his fault the team is going to have cap issues. I'm sure he is willing to be flexible, but why he has to 'cave' so the Leafs can get his as cheap as they can is not really fair to him either. And what of Marner? i am not seeing a player in Marner that is head and shoulders better than Willie, if he should then sign for way about Nylander..
Lots of variables here.
teams will pay if nylanders available, he wont get 8 im sure there are teams fine with willy at 7-7.5, but we arent.
So it's agreed. Willie will sit out the year then.
Willie's doing that all by himself.
I guess Nylander is glad you're not his player agent.
Louis Gross : "Here Willy lets get you signed for less $$$ than you want, and then even better have you outperform your contract statistically year after year leaving millions of dollars on the table in lost wages as a result as that is great for the Leafs going forward".
Listen here Nylander tells Lewis Gross his agent " Are you working for me or the Leafs management, because getting paid like a 60 point player, and performing like an 80 point player but signing a contract below market just to play, would be something I'm particularly trying to avoid here by holding out"?..
Please everyone. Take a look at Micheal Nylander's checkered hockey past. He drained 35 million out of this industry and he was a flake. I saw him live, he didn't give a bake or a shake.
35 million for floating around and doing basically just above average ****. The guy knows how to drain the bucket out of big business...
I think Dubas and Shanahan are going to try and hurt this family a lot. But all of y'all better bring up Micheal Nylander on hockey db. Guy drained the big guys big time. He ain't scared of the big bad bear NHL.
I called this and I called the team loving Sandin. Both huge great calls. This call though, I wish I didn't have to deliver it.
Micheal Nylander was incesced at how bad a coach Boobock is, and I hate to say this, I agree with Micheal Nylander. The Boob is the Boob. Just a horrible 2018 coach.
I hope we find a way to trade Nylander soon. Matthews says he wants more assists anyway and I haven't seen much of a scoring touch from Nylander.
Yeah that's going way too far. Watching Ennis on that line isn't hurting Nylander either.
You just don't get it do you? This strategy is doomed to fail. They have no leverage. There is no team that is going to present a 8 x 7 offer sheet because he ain't worth that, money wise or draft pick wise. And don't give me this crap about a team screwing the Leafs with some kind of nudge nudge wink wink offer. The NHL would be all over that.
i'd argue, Nylander sitting out because he 'needs to think about himself/his future' and can't make it work on a 6.1-6.5 contract (because I doubt very much the Leafs offered him 5.9 or lower), did it to himself. He hasn't done much to earn more than 6.5++. Him sitting out and hurting the team - is a reason (for some) to be a whipping boy to some.
also. just because Nylander is your fan favourite doesn't mean he's everyone else's fan favourite. people aren't entitled to love Nylander simply because he's on the team. (this doesn't excuse utter stupidity but other than that.. )
