The No. 1 job should be open competition

In my opinion, Vigneault will need to ride the "hot hand" in goal, and treat Luongo and Schneider as two players competing for the job.

Until there is a trade, the Canucks have two very capable goaltenders, and the one who plays should be the one who gives you the best chance to win.

IF (big if) Schneider struggles, and it turns out that Luongo is having a better season, I think the worst thing the Canucks could do is to try to "shoehorn" Schneider into a starting role.

If Luongo is playing better than Schneider, he should play, regardless of the consequences off the ice. A trade will sort itself out, but in the meantime winning is the most important thing.
