While starting this season they have alot of respect... For the longest time the Victoria Royals have been the most underrated chl team. This team often is the Kelowna Rocket's/Prince George Cougars's Bitch in the playoffs, so I won't talk about their playoff performance. In 2015-16, the Victoria Royal solidified them as one of the scariest teams in the chl by getting the best record in the whl heading into the playoffs. This included a 22 GAME WINNING STREAK, giving them a 50-16-3 record with 4 core players. Joe Hicketts, Matthew Phillips, Tyler Soy and Alex Forsberg. This ended with the royals losing to the reigning whl champions, the rockets, in 7 games. The royals had a "forgettable" season in 16-17, losing in the first round to the silvertips in 6 (the last game going through a whl and chl record 5 overtime periods). This year though, they have started on fire. Right now, they are 7-0-1 with their lead man, Matthew Phillips, scoring 19 points in 8 games! if this keeps up, the team might be able to get out of this underrated ditch that they are in.
