I'd say the most ridiculous has been the number of games Buffalo has won this season despite being outshot and out-possessed by a huge margin nearly every game.

Ondrej Pavelec has a league average save percentage (.915).

Tuukka Rask, Henrik Lundqvist, and Semyon Varlamov do not.

the Leafs have been really lucky lately. they'll come crashing down at some point and it will be fun to watch.
Well lets base the opinion on their last 3 games k

He just did that, analyzed what he saw and made rather sensible prediction based on it.

Let's look at advanced stats for Toronto:

sf% 23th
ff% 24th
cf% 26th
pdo 4th

Looks like his eyeball-test is backed by stats. Toronto has been dominated and been lucky. They will collapse like last year.

sure if he only watched a few games, they are 13th in 5 vs 5 cf.
Again all those advanced stats are only good when used properly, for instance in most games the Leafs are fine till they get a lead then they sit back and rack up the shots against.

The thought of Toews being the best player in the league DOES belong in the anomaly thread..

Mike Smith is the 11th highest paid goalie in the league, but comes in at 41st in save percentage, and 38th in GAA. Only 44 goalies have played this year.

That's definitely not true.
Yeah - Common sense says... 30 teams, each have had 2 goalies that have had games... min of 60 goalies must have games played - at bare minimum.

Stats say 69 goalies with minutes played this yr...

However, there are 44 "Qualified" goalies... i.e. played enough games to qualify for the stats leaders.. (presently appears to be around 10 appearances.)
So one can understand what he saw...

EDIT:

Teams that have seen more than 2 goalies:

SJ : Niemi, Stalock, Grosenick
NJ : Schnieder, Clemmer, Kinkaid
Dal : Lethenon, Lindback, Rynnas
Det : Howard, Monster, Mrazek
Ana : Andersen, Gibson, LeBarbera (Bryzgalov in wait)
StL : Elliot, Allen, Brodeur
Chi : Crawford, Darling, Raanta
CBJ : Bob, McElhinney, Forsberg
Col : Varly, Berra, Pickard

Ryan Reaves is 21st in the league in Shooting Percentage and 9th among players with more than 20 games played.

He has more goals and points than Chris Stewart.

He has more (or equal) goals than:

Vanek

Scheifele
Elias
Sharp
Oshie

Couldn't agree more. So sick of people even putting him top 5 in the league. I like the guy, but holy crap. People need to chill.
