the Leafs have been really lucky lately. they'll come crashing down at some point and it will be fun to watch.

Which other game was lucky? When we put up 4 early goals on Vancouver? Or how about when he held a 2-0 lead for much of the game against the Flames and ended it by a 4-1 final score with nearly equal shots.

Goalies are part of the team too. This was the 2nd game on a back-to-back against a surging, rested Detroit Red Wings team that hadn't played since Sunday. I agree, the team was pretty abysmal tonight. However, you have to give credit where credit is due. James Reimer played a great game and the Leafs were resilient enough to comeback and win the hockey game.

How about you stop trying to predict the future and just analyze what's actually happened so far this NHL season. There's more than enough to discuss as it is without having to make things up whats going apparently destined to happen as the season goes on.

He just did that, analyzed what he saw and made rather sensible prediction based on it.

Let's look at advanced stats for Toronto:

sf% 23th
ff% 24th
cf% 26th
pdo 4th

Looks like his eyeball-test is backed by stats. Toronto has been dominated and been lucky. They will collapse like last year.

-Fleury is 5th in save% for goalies that have played over half of their teams games
-The NYI are 8 points above the 3rd place team in the Metro
-Clarkson has more goals than Marleau and Carter
-Wingels has more goals and points than Hall (though Hall has missed some time)
-Malkin is 1st in minor penalties taken with 19 minors
-Ovechkin is on pace to finish with 43 goals and 70 points, which is would be 10th in goals and 43rd in points
-Crosby is tied with Giorodano, Hudler and Kucherov in ES Points

Zach Parise is out-producing the "best player in the world" Jonathan Toews. With similar defensive play and leadership abilities.

Edmonton scored 15 goals in the last ten games. Winnipeg 14 in the last three.

Also, Malkin has more PIM than Jared Boll.

Time to abuse the +/-

Ovechkin is 0 and Bergeron is -1
Logic states that Ovechkin is better defensively than Bergeron

Is this actually true?

Dallas Eakins had 4 wins last year against western playoff teams.

San Jose, Minni, and twice against Anaheim.

If San Jose makes the playoffs this year that will be 5 wins..

Yet somehow, he still has a job..

The Calgary Flames.

That's it. Just them and everything they're doing. Would have never bet they'd be in a play-off spot now, or ever during the season really. Horrible team on paper.
