At Tripod:

Only if I'm really lazy or wiped or whatever. Generally, the food I make is much better than going out. Even lazy slow cooker meals turn out better.

Pack of chicken breasts. Just dump them into slow cooker. Don't fuzz with them at all. 4-5 hours on high depending on how many breasts you used or overnight on low.
Mix with taco seasoning. Add taco seasoning (39 cents)--let it slow cook.
Procure flower tortillas which you can buy by the 100,000 pack for 2 bucks or your favorite taco.
Procure any ingredients you like on Mexican food.

When chicken is done:

Shred with a big fork. Body check the chicken while repeating "Car bomb" over and over (this helps, not sure why) softly under your breath.
Use chicken to make whatever kind of burrito/taco you want. Salsa, sour cream, black beans, etc.

Easily lasts a week. Sometimes I have a burrito for breakfast with chicken -- especially if the wife already made eggs.

Just random tacos and burritos during the week if I don't feel like cooking. It feels like this makes me a successful adult somehow.

Worst food scenario coming home after a long day you have tacos ready to go.
Oh trust me, I can cook and do. I just did not have the desire to cook after grocery shopping....even picked up chicken breast. So good ol Wendy's chicken burger it was!

I mean...what my friend did!

I just recently discovered a love for cooking. The Mrs went back to work full time a couple of years ago and recently had back surgery so I kinda had to jump in there and step up to the plate.
I discovered, for myself, that there is a certain catharsis in prepping, chopping and cooking. On nights I don't get to cook or grill, I'm almost....disappointed?
But then there are certainly nights when I have no desire whatsoever to cook.

I really, really missed it in Thailand. I have to wait a while longer until we get the house ready, but I am excited to start cooking again. While I was over there I discovered these food hacks on this site called "So Yummy" and I am dying to try out a bunch of them, even though they will make me tremendously fat.

There's nothing better than few beers & glasses of good wine and cooking.

Exactly what I do. Get everything out I'm going to need....take shot of whiskey, pour a beer then commence to chopping.....then commence to try and not chop off pieces of my fingers (due to sometimes more than one shot and/or beer is consumed)

add in a puff or two from the one-hitter and this is my recipe almost every evening

my wife is a *better* cook than I, but I'm the better line cook so I'm on dinner prep almost every weekday
she's barred from loading the dishwasher, because she can't do it properly, which boggles my mind

I agree that cooking is a lot of fun. Crack a beer and start cooking.

My only thing is that if I'm spending time cooking people need to eat it while it is hot or I'm lit.

What's truly mind boggling about my wife loading the dishwasher is she will get on me for stacking the bowls properly in the top rack because "they won't get clean that way!", yet she will pile things one on top of the other on the bottom rack....:huh:
infuriating!
I got mine to admit that she had no clue how a dishwasher worked...which, I thought, after explaining it to her, would end the misunderstanding as to how to properly load a dishwasher, but nope, still can't do it.

These are usually when I make my best food, because I get so into it and take my time to read through instructions.

I usually cook the tacos, steaks, and such once or twice a week and the fiancé will do the rest like pasta/salads/chicken. You guys should really look into air fryer’s for a healthier/better way to cook some meats. The chicken comes out crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. We recently made country fried steak in it and my gosh was it AMAZING. Came out a nice medium-medium well

I just saw one of those on TV when I was awake at like 5 in the morning - they look very interesting.

Hold on to your butts... your colons are about to be virtually cleansed through reading my food updates. I know it's been a long time since I posted but I'm sure Captain Dave is looking forward to my posts. :)

My body is ready to hear about your meal abominations. Let's have it.

Monday:
Breakfast: Kale+spinach smoothie with 2 bananas, raw cocoa, chia seeds and 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar. Also had 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter.

Lunch: Homemade quinoa crackers with raisins, cranberries, and chocolate morsels.

Dinner: What I call a "buddha bowl" - steamed asparagus, 3 baby eggplants cut in half and baked for 45 minutes with rosemary and avocado oil, pan seared shiitake mushrooms, 1 full avocado, and leftover quinoa, all laid overtop of hydroponic lettuce and topped with a tahini sauce.

How's that for starters?

I am not surprised that you evacuate five times per day. I would be surprised if that number weren't actually significantly closer to 50.

that doesn't look like a 5-timer type of day to me

that looks like a one-huge-log that needs a chainsaw doubling as a plunger type of movement...

Yeah, but he's not really eating anything that would turn into waste. It would be like eating a quick-twitch muscle sandwich on a bed of ... nope, that's the extent of my knowledge about anatomy. I went to Catholic school, so I don't really understand the human body.
