Those Sharks teams were all better, Philly 2010 was better, Canucks 2011 were better, Nashville in 2017 were better, Boston in 2017-18 were better, Ducks in 2003 were better, that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there's at least 2 more teams per year that were better than this Leafs team. This is a weird thread.

What? That was a Cinderella team

Dang the Leafs were sooooo close.
Only if Montreal didn’t try so hard.

The Avalanche of 2003/2004, the one with Kariya and Selanne, takes the cake easily

yeah I would say the 79-80 Habs and 85-86 Oilers were lightyears better than the 20-21 Leafs

is this a joke thread, though?

2006 oilers were a much better team than the leafs.
2008 penguins, a much better team than the leafs.
The 2014 new jersey Devils was a much better team than these leafs.

Leafs were a much more complete team in the early 2000's. Legit #1 Center in Sundin, dmen in McCabe/Kaberle and a #1 goalie in Cujo/Belfour not to mention a ton of grit/desire with Tuckers/Roberts etc... This year we have a lot of high end talent but aren't as deep. Also our grit/desire is non-existent

Dystopia
The 2007 Buffalo Sabres:

Hecht - Briere - Vanek
Roy - Drury - Afinogenov
Kotalik - Gaustad - Pominville
Paille - Mair - Novotny/Peters

Kalinin - Numminen
Tallinder - Lydman
Campbell - Spacek

Miller

Also had Connolly, Stafford, Zubrus, and MacArthur for what has to be the best collection of scratches I've ever seen

Most entertaining team to watch coming out of the lockout. Vanek actually played on the third line with Derek Roy and Max Afinogenov, still managed to score 40 lol. Then just months later they blew that team up and have made the playoffs just once since.

This year's Avalanche are better and are from the same season.

Not even the best team to not win the cup this year. No starting goalie. Questionable D. Poor bottom six filled with aging chokers.
