Giroux/McDavid/Kopitar have to be frontrunners if you are leaving out Gaudreau.

edit: didn't notice Ovechkin with sub 30 PIMs

When there is that recent trend to try to fit every possible trophy to Barkov's trophy-case, let's try this one too.

Best prospects for it, IMO. So humble and so unselfish. Good, level headed player (whom has fans even in his own team), plays in remote perifery (in NHL-context) where all kinds heroes have relatively bigger impact in growing local hockey than in traditional hockey metropols.

Does everything well on ice, no weak spots. PR-worthy face, and representation. Nobody have anything bad to say about him, not even in HF!

This surprised me.

I'd assume guys like Barkov, Kopitar are the frontrunners but 2 PIM while playing top line minutes gives him a shot.

The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, formerly known as the Lady Byng Trophy, is presented each year to the National Hockey League "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability".

-Wikipedia

There are nothing particularly about amounts of PIMs. It's more about general conduct, sportmanship, and representation. Reputation award.

It's Barkov for me, AINEC.

Should never have won it especially after being fined for embellishment, he is so petulant if he’s not happy he stomps to the bench and slams the door at least once during the game. After saying that he should never have been given the embellishment penalty last night but he definitely shouldn’t have gobbed off to the refs they never change their decisions so it’s wasted
