I remember Delvecchio as predominantly a centre who played some left wing.

Am I wrong in assuming it was Lindsay-Delvecchio-Howe and latter Delvecchio-Ullman-Howe?

Your assumption is correct. Interestingly, 58-59 is probably the only full season Delvecchio played LW & he made the all stars. After that Hull & the big M took over.

As a center Delvecchio was not always on the 1st line (the Howe Line). Abel was there when he came up & Reibel played between Howe & lindsay fo about 4 years. Ullman also had a stint as ist line centre. With Delvecchio & Ullman Detroit had a great 1-2 centre ice pubch for a number of years.
