I thought this could be a cool idea. Every team or GM posts the players that could be available for trade, or positions of need in one single thread, rather than teams posting single articles announcing this. This way it is very organized and should maximize the amount of action we see on deadline day. Even though it's 20 days away or so (probably less with doubleheaders), I figure it may take some GM's 20 days to post! ;)

Florida Panthers

Players On the Block:
Pierre Turgeon - traded
Scott Mellanby - traded

Radek Martinek - traded
Joel Kwiatowski - traded
Jesse Schultz
Prospect Yared Hagos
Prospect Dwight Helminen
Prospect Andrei Plekhanov
Prospect Ryan Oulahen

Players That Aren't Untouchable, Should the Right Offer Come Along:
Steve Reinprecht
Fernando Pisani
Sean O'Donnell
Brad Richardson
Marek Svatos
Prospect Jonathan Sigalet

Don't Bother Asking About:
Shane Doan
Mike Richards
Raffi Torres

The Flames are on the look-out for a top six forward.

Player must be better than say Williams or Fedotenko.

The player must be able to play LW or C.

The player could be a UFA and have a reasonable salary this season (i.e. not more than 2 million).

Will accept an RFA or long term contract player if the contract is solid.

Looking to offer prospects/picks in return.

No major changes are expected. Not willing to give up top prospects for the rental. I am also not moving my potential UFA Prospal though I have looked into the option.

Also - I may go for a starting goalie if he is a UFA and has a reasonable contract, though with Labarbera at 13-1-1 it has to be a good offer.

On the Block
Matt Bradley
Jason Ward

Prospects I won't move though people always ask
Brandon Bochenski
Wojtek the Polski
Alex Picard
Steve Downie
Andrej Sekera
Scott Jackson
Patrick Berglund
Riley Holzapfel
Devin Setoguchi
Bryce Swan
David Kveton
James Reimer
Andrew Alberts

Prospects people don't ask about but I will move
Konstantin Glazachev
.. and just about everyone else.

Thats it. Thats all - The Flames have already made most of their prescribed changes.

Bruins may be sellers at the dealine.

All Bruins are available for the right price, with the exception of Vince of course :).

A few of the vets might be had for relatively little coming in return.

Only in the HFNHL can guys like David Kveton and Chris Kelly make it onto "untouchable" lists. Not that they're both not nice players, but... ;)

My rule is this - no one's untouchable. Yes, I like Brian Rafalski, Mike Cammalleri, and Jack Johnson a lot, but everyone has their price!

I don't know why I feel compelled to defend myself.

I know one hockey scout personally. He works for the Flames and I interviewed him as research for a hockey show I was mulling around pitching to some networks. I asked him which prospect he thought was most underrated. He said that he wished he'd drafted Kveton. Said the words 'Datsyuk' in the conversation. I said 'HFNHL, I drafted him.' Actually, I didn't say that, but I was thinking it. LOL.

David Kveton (2006), C, 7-2-5-7
Review: Kveton returned for his second and last U18 WJC appearance and sure made it a memorable experience for himself. He centered the Czech top line and was one of the best players at his position in the tournament.
Scouting: A bit undersized, but the way he plays the game, it's rarely an issue. A quick, elusive skater with a very fluid stride, if you stop moving for a second, Kveton will beat you .. extremely smooth puckhandling and can deke his way through traffic if necessary .. elite vision and playmaking skills, creative and has a natural gift for setting up his teammates .. doesn't hesitate to shoot when the opportunity arises, but he doesn't possess the hardest shot, even though he has a fairly quick release as well as being accurate .. good work ethic and a team player, rarely takes shifts off and his great hockey sense makes him very useful defensively .. his quickness and smarts make him a premier penalty killer .. needs to get stronger physically, but he does win some battles regardless and most importantly, he rarely needs to be in those type of situations thanks to his hockey sense and overall set of skills.

The quote is from McKeens. Of course everyone has their price. Even David Kveton. And yeah, he probably won't make it. But still. I like him. Hands off!

Quite right, too. Noone is actually untouchable, so those players referred to as such are players that a team isn't prepared to move without a really compelling reason. In my case, Kelly is young, versatile and cheap with two more years on his contract, and in a cap world that's pure gold.

Plus there are the intangibles... he's a fan favourite in Columbus, great in the community, a good role model... well, okay, not a big factor for the HFNLH, but I like the kid, and as a former player that I was able to reacquire, I want to hold onto him. He's a favourite - one of those players their GM values higher than the rest of the league does. We all have 'em - no use denying it! :)

Matt likes to touch his players. :amazed:

Tim Thomas and/or David Aebischer are available for the right price. Thomas is a pending UFA, but his salary is dirt cheap for a 76OV goaltender and he should go up next season with the NHL season he's having.

Aebischer is a pending RFA, but is rated higher at 78OV.

Washington's List

On the market:

Mike Modano: one of the bigger (perhaps biggest) impact player with an 82 OV rating but has a high contract at $6M per year

Alex Mogilny: still has the good ratings, the $4.375M contract but should/will/must call it a career after this year

Shawn McEachern: 70OV...good leadership/experience and speed

Karlis Skrastins: like him alot...signed for two years at $667k per year and has a 79DF rating and is the new Tim Horton (without the good coffee)....will command more than a nickel

Not really on the market but available for the right price:

Everyone else on the team....

Notes:
I'd rather not subract from my current NHL roster, I'd be more inclined to put together a prosepcts & picks package for a player if possible. If you are offering me a RW...I'd really like to move one of Antropov or McCarty in a package deal if possible. But I'm not hell bent on moving one of those two if you're not interested in them.
