Give it up for Johnny Malkin. I don't want to hear any more BS on this site about puck dangling, or soft defense. This team is unquestionably better with him in the lineup. He has elite passing and shooting skills, and they more than make up for his deficiencies elsewhere. Haters better recognize!

We have an appreciation thread about him already made this year.

And another one before that:

And I'd say there aren't pretty much any here anymore who doesn't understand his value to the team. There are more people moaning about him not being appreciated than people not appreciating him nowadays.

Oh the haters will start up again, they just have a bigger list of issues at the moment. Most have probably accepted he's a good 4th liner but haven't come to grips with that he's not going to be on the 4th line. But that said, I'm glad to have him back. The team is better with him.

People rarely had a problem with him on the third line. It's when he's bumped up his strengths turn into weaknesses. It's fine having him carry the puck and shoot a lot when he's not playing with good players.

Elite passing and shooting?

With career highs of 12 goals and 32 points?

He definitely helps the team, and they're better with him in the lineup, but that's because their 3rd line sucks balls. It's indicative of their need for a real 3rd line center, not necessarily their need for Malkin.
