Well I think we can pretty much count on Ghost, G, and Voracek.

FWIW... IMO that G/Jake/Ghost Group was the one that had it down pat when the 3x3 emerged... they controlled the play and pretty much put a stamp on how it should be done.

... But this Season it seemed like they didn't want to go with them at all... it went from rolling them out first and often to hardly at all... Unless it's because Hak felt that the opposition had the book on them and they were no longer efficient, I have no clue why.

Now, it seems like Coots/Koney/Provo are the no brainer choice... but, while the results were the same to the early G/J/G outings, the manner in totally different... instead of controlling the play and going in for the kill, they strike quickly before the opposition knows what's happening.

Odd thing is that early this Season... before Koney was used... and while the G line was avoided, the Flyers were either losing on 3x3, or lasting until the ShootOut... which they always seemed to lose. OTs were seriously killing the Flyers... before Koney was inserted.

They're propably going with Provy, Coots and TK first becouse most other teams start with their first unit and Hak want best defensive players against them.

so what is the deal now...we go tk, coots and prov first and if they actually dont score we go g,v and ghost next? is that line still intact?

Nothing to back this up but IIRC they are still a unit... but I believe they have not been sent out second, although you would think that they would be.

However... I may be dead wrong on this... going by loose memory only.

Couts, Neck, Provocop

G, Jake, Ghost

Simmonds, Patrick, Sanheim?

If Dave would use them that's all you need for the 5 mins right?

He's not likely to help the team score a goal, but MacDonald hasn't been on the ice for a goal against in his 14:48 of OT ice time as a Flyer.

I would use Gudas ahead of him, but not Manning who has conceded two goals against in 3:23.

Yesterday's game was the first OT loss for the Flyers since they lost 5-4 in OT against Pit on 11/27/17.

They are now 8-6 in OT, and 2-7 in shootouts. So 10-13 combined in games decided after regulation.

Unfortunately, it would be hard to find data, but I suspect the games where marginal players were on the ice 3 on 3 are most likely to be those where the team came from behind and the best offensive players were being double shifted in the 3rd period.

If your top guys have tired legs, they're likely to be burnt 3x3, so it's a tradeoff, do I try to give them a few minutes of rest and hope my marginal guys can keep the other team from scoring or do I put my top guys out there and hope "dead legs" don't lead to a quick score for the other team.

No, there were numerous instances where Hak tried to roll four lines for no reason. It's one of the many bad decisions he makes routinely.
