Quite the opposite. The Flames goaltending has been horrendous from Smith. He seems to be settling back to his career averages though.

The Flames biggest question mark will be whether so many skaters can continue with career performances.

Overall been a very exciting season and not just the Flames. So many formerly rebuilding teams figuring it out and surging ahead.

Playing like an absolute monster though. Flames team transformed when he was put on the 2nd line with Backlund and Tkachuk.

Very deep and skilled roster, need legit starter now. Smith and Rittich arent good enough for the payoff pressure imo.

Their depth will be tested now though for sure, Already missing Frolik who reportedly had a setback in his recovery this week and hasn't even skated all month. Now it's being reported that Backlund might be out for a while. That's 2/3 of their second line, but more importantly two guys that do pretty much all the heavy lifting as far as tough matchups and defensive work.

. Wonder if they try Bennett at centre again rather than put Lindholm there and split up the first line

Flames have very good depth. They kind of remind me of the late 80's early 90's flames with the kind of offensive depth they have. They're a fun team for sure.

Team was only bound to breakout. Lots of talent and had a bottom 2 coach last year.

Not sure what that has to do with the OP but if it makes you feel better, go for it.
Here... I'll even throw you a freebie.. Neal has 6 pts.
Still doesn't change the fact that the Flames have five players that are scoring at a 1 PPG or higher pace.

I’ve always liked the Flames. Except for when they play the Wings.

Something about the logo. It’s cool.

In all seriousness I hope they win the west. They look poised.

2 goals away from his career high with 50+ games to go, 13 points away from his career high.

Finally living up to his #5 draft status.

The trade thanks landed both Lindholm and Hannafin is one of the biggest come ups since Nashville got Forsberg for Ecrap.

Happy for the guy. Thought he was turning the corner with Carolina couple years back but it never quite came together.

I'm curious if he's just in a better situation or his shot got better this year. He pretty easily has at least the 2nd best shot on the team after Monahan. And actually seems to have more distance than Monahan.

    shocking to hear tbh

Flames are probably one of the teams i follow the least - and if you had told me to guess which team in the league has 5 ppg players - i don't think i pick them in the first 15 teams, or more.

Pretty impressive. I still think they're largely pretenders and will come down to earth as season progresses - and probably miss playoffs. This is mostly due to their underwhelming results in past few years. Maybe this year changes

still baffled as to why cane fans said some of the thing we can expect from him.

He is a stud. He is a grittier/faster Monahan with similar shot. Just makes a perfect line with Johnny and Monahan.

Honestly - I think it was a trade that benefits both teams. Ferly brings excellent grit and scoring to Carolina, and Dougie can rake in points when put in good positions to succeed. We got exactly what we needed in a RHS for the top line (which Ferly wasn't) and a D to let Brodie play back on his natural side. We lost Fox which could be a huge chip too - so I think it wasn't as unbalanced as it currently looks.
