or precisely name an incident, hit, fight etc where that was the turning point in the players career or they never played again after that moment

I’ve heard some say this about Mike Richards in the playoffs getting hit or Komisarek fighting Lucic

Another one was a player that hit Gretzky back in the day badly and he never played another game again.

Let’s hear them

Scott Stevens hitting Lindros in the Playoffs.

Kevin Steven's breaking his face trying to negate an icing.

He kept playing BUT Iginla nixing the Bruins trade to go to Pittsburgh instead. He never got closer to the Cup and the Bruins swept him on the way to the Finals against Chicago where he would have made a difference to perhaps force a game 7 and at the very least contribute more than Jagr did.

Iginla continued playing after that though

Scott Stevens on so many people.

It's crazy in hindsight that was considered a strong way to play defense. He would leave his feet on so many hits. One of the dirtiest players ever, taking out and ruining skill from the game.

I would much rather Lindros and Kariya display their skills than watch someone head hunt.

He wasn't dirty, he hit in a way that is was clearly legal in the day. Also, one of Lindros's skills was injuring players with hits.
