Shane Doan, the last remaining player to suit up for the original incarnation of the Winnipeg Jets, has retired at 40. Doan was the final first round pick the Jets selected in 1995, and played his rookie season with the Jets 1.0

I'm much happier to have new Jets players to cheer for now. If the Thrashers didn't relocate, i might have gotten a bit teary eyed with Doan's retirement. But his announcement is a very small blip on my radar today. Thanks for your efforts. A lengthy career. Good on you.
