I am happy with #5 pre lotto. It took a disgusting 20 game stretch to even get into the bottom 5 so can't be upset about winning the last two.

Now lets win Hughes or Kakko and end this f***ing drought.

Odds of ending up with each draft position...

1st - 8.5%
2nd - 8.7
3rd - 8.9
4th - (not possible)
5th - 8.4
6th - 34.5
7th - 26.7
8th - 4.3

34.5% chance at 5th or better, 34.5% chance at 6th, and 31% chance at 7th or 8th.

Most likely 2 of the top 3 will win and one team 5th and lower will win. Buffalo will likely be 1/2/3 or 6th. I don’t think winning this year is all that big of a deal. Good players, but this is a draft where 5th OA could be the best in 3 years.

I just hope we end up drafting the guy who turns out best or among the best of who is left when we pick. Not gonna get too bent out of shape worrying about where that pick will be made. Not moving down would make me thrilled, though.

Stamkos Doughty and Pietroangelo went 1,2 and 4 (we own the illustrious Bogo who was 3) in 2008. Karlsson the best of that class went 15th. Like said above it doesn't matter where we pick it matters who we pick.

Botterill’s best moment in the organization was when he was holding that card that gave us Dahlin. Will he get another chance to shine before making horrible mistakes again?

“We are thrilled to win the second overall pick, and we expect Hughes/Kakko will fit in with the culture that Phil Housley is building.”

I remeber this thread during last years lotto.. super quiet until the intermission break between actually winning (to get into the top 3) and then actual top 3 draw..

Never thought we would win last year.. I think we steal a spot this year though.

I feel like the last couple months of the season was the lotto win. Moved all the way from like 15 to top 8. Hell of a jump.

I’m not sweating this one. 1-2 is what? 17% chance around? 3-8 seem the same tier. Whatever happens is whatever.

Im feeling pick 7 coming our way. And it’s one of the group from 3-10 everyone has so fine.

I’m going with the Sabres drafting at number 6.

One of the most massive and intense internet arguments I've ever seen was, for that hour, on this board, what the odds were that the Sabres landed the top pick versus 2/3 haha.

Hopefully Botterill didn't ruin his lucky underwear after winning Dahlin last year.
