If Backes is done, then I think only Blues fans understand just how big a loss it is. He is a #1C, people might look at his offensive numbers and disagree, but they would be wrong. To be fair, the wingers have been a little loose on the point to help out forward coverage, because let's be honest, Chicago has dangerous forwards.

To be honest. I would rather see them clear the lane of Hawks and themselves and let Miller see the shot. If he can see it there is no way a point shot is going to beat him clean. All three of the goals scored on him yesterday were deflections off Blues players trying to block the shot.

He hasn't shown me he's worth $6.3 million per year and also worth driving Jake Allen away to want to be traded.
