Figured it was easier just to make a mega thread for the next month or so.

For the third time in the last 8 years we have the best basketball player in the world hitting free agency.

He has a player option that needs to be exercised by June 29.

Poll attached.

He's joining the Lakers so Lavar Ball can show him how to play better.

If the goal is to win titles, philly or Boston are the best options as getting out of the east is way easier than the West. If he wants to build the brand, it’ll be LA.

Vet min to the Warriors, duh.

Should do it just to troll everybody else. Imagine seeing that super power death lineup of Curry-Klay-KD-Bron-Draymond.

LA is also better for his legacy.

I think Boston or Philly give him much higher odds of titles than the Lakers, even if you assume the Lakers get Paul George as well.

Its not necessarily about the rings.

If he goes to Boston or Philly, its just going to be the same story as when he left CLE and MIA - the teams were done competiting, he was tired of doing it all himself and is leaving just to go form another big 3 with two other stars.'

If he goes to LA he won't win right away but if they do eventually win, it won't be seen as taking the easy way out. It would be a process thats more rewarding and looks better on him. Its also a special thing to win a championship with/for the Lakers (similar to winning with the Yankees and Cowboys) and follow in the footsteps of some all time greats.

It would also be an amazing business move for him and give him a better chance at looking after his production & entertainment companies, he already lives there in the summer and its a great area for youth basketball.

This is so absurd. I'm not saying it's something that doesn't get talked about, but the fact that there's even a debate about "Yeah, he can win a bunch of championships if he goes to team X, but it won't be rewarding" is just insane. How has it gotten to the point where people don't even value winning the NBA Championship if it isn't done in a certain way?

No sane person doesn't think he's the best ever, and if he goes to LA and wins 5 more Championships by himself, the people that think Jordan is better because he was 6-0 in the Finals or whatever the argument is would still never change their opinion. His legacy is set either way, just go to a place that will help you win more Championships, unless he values something else more.

Lakers. They have the cap space to give both LeBron and George max contracts right away. They also have young talent and all of their future picks (after this year) to help them acquire another superstar/all-star player.

The Warriors and Celtics stuff is laughable to me. He wants to beat the Warriors and I don't think he'd ever go play in Boston.

Pipe dream but LeBron + Davis in New Orleans would be awesome, regardless of Cousins being there.
