-NYI-tavares--the most marketable player in the draft. best player as well. will hit the 50 goal plateau a few times.

-TB-hedman--stamkos last year first overall, this year hedman. they may have just got the best player two drafts in a row.

-COL-duchene--the most complete player in the draft. could be joe sakics replacement and a stasny-duchene 1-2 punch will be great.

-ATL-kane--lots of choices here but they chose the guy who will go to the net and do the dirty work. kovalchuk will be one happy man.

-LA-paajarvi-svensson--he just drives with the puck and has great speed. he has been playing against men and fits in well with a young kings team.

-PHX-schenn--sorry leaf fans. yes they could use a D more but you just take the best player and the coyotes have a decent amount of depth on D.

-TOR-ekman-larsson--the biggest riser of the whole draft and is very much a tomas kaberle clone. OEL-schenn wll be a great pair.

-DAL-kulikov--he will be PP QB for years to come. think of what zubov has did for the stars in his career.

-OTT-cowen--the biggest faller of the draft. if he did not get injured he is a top five pick. sens get very lucky.

-EDM-kadri--yes they have a bunch of young players like him already but you just take the best player available and having a second hemsky would not hurt.

-NAS-glennie--two-way player who does everything well. he fits in very well with that grinding preds style of play.

-MIN-schroeder--pretty much a match made in heaven. MIN getting a MIN native. wild will be turning into a bit of a scoring team in a few years.

-BUF-josefson--never going to be an all-star but will be a consistant 60 point player. does everything well well and will play in any situation.

-FLO-moore--yes, yes, yes bouwmeester and replace a D for him. i am not picking for that reason, they need D more than forwards and he is a great fit. peter deboer may have a lot to do with it with moore going to kitchener where he used to coach. has good connections there.

-ANA-kassian--even after burke they are going with the same philosophy. big skilled player who play physical.

-CLB-ellis--their offense is set for the future and now they get the most offensive Dman in the draft. he can run that future deadly PP

-STL-erixon--will never be a star but a great complimentary player. will play twenty minutes a night in all situations.

-MON-kreider--habs need a scorer and they like the ncaa path. kreider fits both and is a good fit.

-NYR-leblanc--he has slipped a little but with i being such a good draft someone has to slip up. good all round game that the rangers need.

-CAL-ashton--big power forward with a potentially great skill set. he has a lot of work to do and will take some time but the flames are a very patient organization.

-PHI-holland--big skilled forward is what the flyers like. he fits the team very well and is a bit of a sleeper.

-VAN-runblad--with the loss of bourdon they are short on the back end. runblad is the best all round defenseman left.

-NJ-shore--jersey does not rush their young guys and shore will be a bit of a project. he will either fit as a top line scorer if he pans out or a typical third liner.

-WAS-despres--they have all of the scoring in place. yes alzner will be the shut down guy but he has a bit of a two way game. despres will be that shutdown guy for them.

-BOS-leddy--i think that the bruins pick a D and they go a little off the board. he had a great combine and his offensive game is a little underrated.

-NYI-morin--go big or go home. islanders swing for the fences and draft a tavares-morin combo who could combine for 80 goals a year in their prime.

-CAR-budish--if he did not blow out his knee playing football he most likely would have been a top fifteen player. size and skill to make it big.

-CHI-rajala--team defence:check, team offence:check. pick a roll player or the guy with the most potential. potential.

-DET-werek-has some decent size and scoring ability. no real weaknesses to his game. will be a great third liner in the past likes of draper and maltby.

-PIT-de haan--he has just slipped a bit and gets picked by the cup champs to round off the first round. he has lots of filling out to do yet.
